Last night we had a roasted vegetable lasagna from Costco. It was really good! I think today we'll do pita with these chickpea-spinach patties we got at Costco, and a big salad. Of course, I could change my mind between now and then.

Shitty hotel restaurant buffalo chicken sammich. I'm fairly sure that the chicken came already frozen with the "sauce" on it, it was so dry. A few melted crumbles of Blue cheese. But, it was dark when I got to the hotel and it doesn't look like the area of town where I want to go wandering in the cold and dark.

Lamb shanks cooked in Medoc, with French fingerling potatoes, leek, rutabaga, carrot and celery, onion, garlic, flageolets, white sweet corn, petit pois, a lot of herbs, tomato paste, anchovy paste, dried apple and pear, and a pinch of brown sugar. French umami goodness.

Just made a very quick supper of Salmon steak and shredded leek, flash fried in a little olive oil, served with runner beans sliced very thin and blanched in water at a rolling boil.

    Yum.

Fucking hotel food again, most likely. Or I'm going to give up and just skip dinner.

Another one-pot French style stew of beef and wine. This one is actually adapted from a recipe in a 16th or 17th century English cookbook, where it was originally a pork recipe called "Haunch of Pork sodden in wine, after the fashion of Langue d'Ock." Seems to work fine with some brisket and short rib, though.
