It WAS better the next day. I added a little nutmeg and coriander. I'll do that again.

  4. Leftover Squash soup that I made. Yeah, I cooked. FROM SCRATCH even. It was pretty tasty if I do say so myself. I'm looking forward to eating more. I just hope I don't burn the bread again that I was trying to toast for dipping pleasure. The smoke alarm went off twice.

I'm going to make a roasted red pepper cream sauce for Martian tonight. I'm going to serve it with ravioli and perhaps some garlic brad. He really enjoyed it last time I made it. He's taken me out for the last two weekends. Tis my turn to do something nice for him.

Portuguese at Columbus Grill in Manassas.
Looking at the menu, I'm thinking Caldo Verde (Sausage, Kale, & Potato Soup), side Greek Salad, Grilled Sardines (maybe) or Scallops Santa Clara, Raw Oysters, and Beef/Bacon Roulade... And a Manhattan. And cheap fizzy yellow lager.

Mushroom/squash lasagna: one half mushroom for my husband, one half squash for me.

Liver over egg noodles, with brussel sprouts. My inner little kid is cringing.

Haven't had liver in forever...wonder if I still like it.

Forgot to thaw anything for lunch so I'm guessing it will be either left over pasta or PB&J sandwiches tonight.

Sauteed pork chops with Cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, three peppers, and garlic, in an apricot caramel sauce with dried cherries and goat cheese.
That was last night. Thinking I may tweak this again for later in the week.

Nothing wrong with Hot Dogs! Split em, grill em up with some onions and just a little bit of bell pepper. Put em on rye bread toast with some mayo, brown mustard, swiss cheese, and the onions and peppers, and maybe some minced pickled jalapeƱ0, maybe some bacon, and you've got as good a meal as you can get.
