A large Italian sub (grinder, hoagie, hero...whatever you call them where you are) with everything.

  2. My roommate gets home from work about the time I get up to start getting ready for my work day. I was weirded out that he was cooking spaghetti at 6:45 am. It's his dinner time, so it shouldn't be that weird. He then pointed out that I have breakfast for dinner, brinner if you will, all the time. It's true. I love eggs.

Long story short I'm going to make drop biscuits and eggs for dinner tonight. I will most likely share with my roommate since it's technically breakfast for him.

    We've been
We've been eating like that for years. We both work evenings so eating a big dinner at midnight isn't the best idea. Roll out of bed in the morning and throw a pot roast or something in the oven for breakfast and have a grilled cheese sandwich or an omelette when we get home.

How do you prepare/season eggplant? I never have tried them, just seen them on cooking shows like Chopped.
I am fully willing to give them a try to at least see if I like the flavour when they are done properly.

Hubby made tomato sauce loaded up with veggies and served it over whole-wheat rotini. Mmm.

Going to an Iron Chef challenge. A few friends are going head to head on a Surf and Turf challenge. I am one of the judges.

I hope to compete next year.

Today my wife made a pot of escarole soup for tonight and a pot of split pea soup for tomorrow.

    Both are yummy.

Lordeden and I had Chinese tonight, and I tried Mapo tofu for the first time. It wasn't as spicy as I would've liked, but it was still delicious.

I made cream of celery with roasted green chile soup. From scratch, with no recipe. No flour, real cream. It was good, but seems to be missing something. I'll taste it again tomorrow. Sometimes soup is better the next day. Maybe tweak it a little.

Apparently I'm having some sort of pasta dish as well, though tonight the better half is cooking and I don't have more detail than that yet.
