Hatch peppers can be used in a wide variety of dishes. I like the taste; my wife prefers hatch in small quantities and not too often.

    :(:(:(

For me, nurture beats nature. Despite my nearly 100% Scandinavian genes, I love chiles and cumin in almost anything. Of course, my maternal grandfather was a career County Extension Agent in central New Mexico and his wife adopted the New Mex cuisine (and that means green chiles) with a vengeance, passing it on to my Nordic Mom and her sisters. Grandpa said that it was possible to fit in in New Mexico and was well liked by his clients and neighbors. Despite being a fair skinned redhead, and Lutheran.

So, I may really have acquired my taste for chiles from my mother's milk.;)

Most bananas would look small next to an almost 3lb steak, eh?

Is our wedding anniversary today. So we tried to have a nice dinner at home even though we couldn't go out.

With a ribeye I want the fat to have an opportunity to render. A leaner cut I would've done more rare, but not a ribeye.

We did have twice baked potatoes and creamed spinach as the sides, but I figured the star of the show was the ribeye. :D
