    I knew I forgot something.
I made a huge pot of chili for my friend's wedding gift. And forgot to eat. Too tired. Protein shake it is. Egg white Optimum Nutrition and flax milk.

Tonight will be leftover pork roast, leftover garlic rosemary mashed potatoes, and a not yet chosen veggie.

Last night was "just dinner": 90/10 ground beef patties, broiled, topped with cheddar cheese, and boiled mixed veggies. The beef patties tasted good....but.....were still very pink even after 7/7/4/4 cooking (and I intentionally didn't cut them thick).

Baked chicken leg quarters flavored with lots of garlic and some raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing. Neither of us cared for the dressing on salads, but it made a good marinade on the chicken. Baked potato and carrots.

Last night, I took the marinade from Mario Batali's carne asada tacos and used it with mushrooms instead. I didn't have poblanos like the recipe called for, so I used red pepper and changed the process a bit for the grill. While it didn't follow the original recipe basically at all beyond the seasoning, it was freaking delicious.

Yesterday evening we went to the College World Series game in Omaha, and watched this year's "Cinderella" team, Coastal Carolina, beat Texas Christian.

We met a nice bunch of folks from Baton Rouge, who go the the CWS every year, regardless of whether their team (LSU) is playing or not. They've been doing that for about twenty years.

This morning we slept in and enjoyed a morning session of makin' whoopee, then went to the Bohemian Cafe, (an Omaha icon since 1924 -- it's announced that it's closing in September) for Sunday dinner. Central European food, as you might guess from the name. I had liver dumpling soup, then roast pork with dumplings, sauerkraut, and cream dill gravy, and took home enough for at least two more meals. Sig has roast duck, and said it's the best he's had in the USA. It is sad to see places like this go.:(

Sandy made T-Bones with all the sides. We already ate so dinner will be little to nothing

The restaurant was slammed it unlikely we'd even get served so we went to the Irish pub we love.

Last couple of late afternoon "dinners" have ticked off some Chicago meals I've been craving.

Let me know if you want suggestions in any particular cuisine/dish. Though I am way out of the city, I do have a pretty decent knowledge of where to go for what.
