    I agree 100%
Chicken breasts, especially boneless skinless chicken breasts look and taste like beige cardboard.

Same here. We never buy chicken breasts. Usually thighs. Occasionally the thigh/leg quarters or an entire chicken. Probably 80% is thigh only though.

We buy chicken breasts, boneless & skinless, because at around $1.90 a pound they're one of the few more affordable meats (bang for your buck, all meat, no waste). They're tricky to cook without drying them out, timing is everything since they're so easy to overcook. I usually broil them for a quick dinner; the main trick is turn them often, and pull them while they're still showing a very, very light pink tint inside.

With that ^ said, yes, the dark chicken meat is definitely more tender, flavorful, and forgiving of being overcooked. I'm a fan of the leg quarters (drumstick & thigh).

Laksa is one of my favourite dishes. Usually it's prawns and cockles in laksa here, but there are many variations.

I like to stuff my chicken tits with spinach, mozzarella, and natural pepperoni, and serve them over homemade red sauce. And that's about it for those. Everything else is thighs.

made a Trini style chicken curry in the slow cooker yesterday. It seemed to be lacking something, so we made a curry sauce by putting onions, garlic & coriander in a food processor and then adding it to curry powder, cumin, turmeric that we had frying in a saucepan. this sauce turned out to be very bitter, we wanted to add it to the chicken to round it out.

so we tried again after googling and finding out that pulsing the onions will make it bitter, this time i minced with a knife. It didn't seem to make a difference, so we put it in the chicken anyway, and the melding seemed to be fine. Oh, we added some Heinz chili sauce too, for some tang.

not bad, next time - no slow cooker!!

Probably grilling out some steaks tonight. Haven't grilled much lately between being beat up in my accident and fighting a cold the last week.

Tonight we had a "Sunday" meal. Pork loin done in the Crock Pot, carrots, & steamed broccoli. For desert we still have some homemade peach crumble.

I also prefer the thigh, easy to bone and plenty of meat. The price and taste is so much better. I for the life of me don't know why people pay for the breast or the wings. I consider myself well versed on the subject

I won't pay the full price for chicken breasts at the grocery store, we usually buy meat at Kroger, unless we're needing them for a specific recipe we really want to try. I find that whole chickens, about $1.00-$1.20 per pound, work out great for us.

Chicken breasts--store brand, not Tyson, Pilgrim's Pride, organic, etc--prices per pound around our area:
    $2.49 regular price, Kroger.
    $1.77-$1.99 on sale, Kroger.
    $1.88 every day, Sam's Club.

I'm not fond of paying the extra $ for pre-cooked food, but the rotisserie chicken at Sam's Club, usually about 3.5-4 pounds for $4.99, is one of the best buys going. By the time you buy a raw bird, rinse it, pull the bits that a lot of people don't usually eat, season it, and cook it, $4.99 is a bargain.

Completely agree, for a quick dinner rotisserie chicken can be a great deal. Either by itself or using the chicken in another recipe.

    Tonight is a bone-in ribeye from Flemming's.
