Plain, boring chicken breast cooked on the gas grill with baked beans and chopped onions. Both of my kids are out and frankly, I can't be bothered.

  3. I'm not really sure. I browned some chicken thighs and now they're in the oven with a bunch of stuff I had around the kitchen. If I die. I'll let you know.

Ginger teriyaki tofu burrito... black beans, light rice, lettuce, a little cheese, some of S's pico and no tortilla.
S had carnitas burrito with black beans, cheese, lettuce, rice, topped in ranchero sauce, sour cream, guac, fresh pico, and some cholula.
I win the healthier dinner contest, lol.

That would also be really good with some peanut sauce, noodle. There's a place we like to go to in Bend called Parrilla's that does funky wraps like that. We always seem to stop there on our way to camping.

I had linguine with Newman's Sockarooni sauce and parmesan cheese. Yum.

I like it with honey-habenero sauce. Peanut sauce would actually knock it off in a different direction with the spiced black beans.

Dollar Dog night at the movies! 1/2 cup of the blue box of mac and cheese, a quesadilla with mex cheese and rice. And I wonder why I look like shit.

    Treat night for me.

I ordered delivery of two chicken tikka rolls and a portion of butter chicken. Dumped the filling of roll one onto roll two, and jettisoned naan one (will have it tomorrow).

Hmmm ... doesn't sound all that great. But ... sure was just what I needed :)

Falafel wrap, hummus and Greek salad. I love the Lebanese-owned Hovan here.

We're having barbecue chicken taco salad tonight. My allergies have me out of commission, so I'm being generously prepared for. The chicken is marinated in homemade barbecue sauce for a few hours before being thrown on the grill and cooked to being just barely done, so the meat just falls off the bones and it's very tender. The chicken is separated from the bone into pieces and tossed in a salad full of butter lettuce, romaine, spinach, tomatoes, olives, other vegetables I forget, a bit of freshly grated cheddar, sour cream, and more barbecue sauce. It's glorious.

I have to go pick up some potatoes, but I'm going to make potato-leek soup.

Salmon, in the oven in foil, with olive oil, butter, tomatoes, onions and mushrooms in the "parcel", too. Add a freshly baked baguette - dinner in 30 minutes.

OMG, tonight's soup was quite literally the best I have ever made. The proportion of vegetables, barley, herbs, stock, beef, each to the other, was somehow perfect. The result was the closest I have ever come to simply distilling the essence of umami.

I wonder if I will ever really be able to duplicate it.
