  1. DAKA

DAKA DOING VERY NICELY, THANK YOU

The sound of a PORSCHE 911, (the older air cooled ones) starting up and driving away...no car since has had that sound.

The sound of my children laughing. Since they all left, the sound of them enjoying each other is so sweet to my ears. I love when they are home.

A bit of overtone chanting and throat singing really gets me.

My first overtoning teacher, Jill Purse

And this is Tserendavaa, whom I had the pleasure to see working some years ago, and a good chat in the toilet queue.

Oh, and Robin Trower's guitar tone.

I would say the crack of thunder on a windy, rainy day. Or the boom of artillery. Both turn me on pretty effortlessly.

The emptiness of morning. The crash of beach waves. The opening awkward drizzles of my coffee pot. The song "Pomp and Circumstance" and "Ave Maria". Cicadas.

Old one: The footsteps of my Dad's wingtips on the tile floor at 5:30.

The sound of feet/hooves/paws on turf.
And the same sort of ringing slowly fading out after you caught the ball.

    gotta love rain and thunder
the clicking sounds of the exam room doors at work when I close them just right
lots of assorted clicking sounds actually, when they sound just right
    high heels on marble floors
    wind gusting through trees
    waves crashing on the shore
that crisp, clear knocking sound that woodpeckers make
    shuffling cards
sonic booms (guess we won't get those anymore)
water rushing over rocks in creeks and rivers

The morning on the farm. In particular, the sound of a breeze rustling leaves and grass and playing with that one loose sheet of metal on the barn roof.

Love the sound of rain on my roof, the waves on the beach, and the mountains at night. Unlike most people, humpback whale sounds are NOT comforting to me. When I'm doing schoolwork, nothing helps me focus like S playing his acoustic guitar or just no-vocal acoustic guitar like Rodrigo y Gabriella. All I have to hear is one note and my body shifts gears

The sound of a 1350cc Hayabusa engine at 140mph from inside a helmet is like nothing else... Your whole body absorbs the sound and eventually that plus the wind noise takes everything else away.

On a kind of silly note, the opening music to Games of Thrones gets me all exited for entertainment :D

being by the seaside when its rough.

One summer I dated a girl who worked in a snooker club in Felixstowe right on the sea front (a place by the sea if you never heard of it)... I wasnt much of a snooker player (and Im still not) but the upstairs snooker hall had the most magnificent views of the sea, and I could just sit there listening to sky news and watching the sea roll in and out, and feeling this incredible sense of timelessness knowing that what I was seeing looked the same 10,000 years ago and in 10,000 years time, the heavy grey waves crashing against the ugly beach over and over like the mechanism of a world sized clock...

My wife makes a cute kind of humming/cooing sound when she's happily enjoying something unexpected from tastes, music, the kids, hugs... I know - sappy!

Sound is a bit difficult for me to explain as a synesthetic.. but there is something really beautiful about the sound of a late winter night. I always liked the sound, it must have something to do with there being decreased outdoor activity in the cold and the effect of various sounds bouncing against the snow. It is a really difficult to describe after effect of a brain injury but it is also very visually calming.

Simple post gone awkward... and no I don't use drugs.

The dampening effect of fresh snowfall almost makes getting up early to shovel worth it.

Oh, man...I was desperately searching youtube for the sound effect from King's Quest IV when you pick up an item (it isn't there. boo.) I still hum that now if I find something I've been looking for. It's a simple little melody, only four notes, but I've always loved that sound.
