Food What is your favorite fast food chain?

Discussion in 'Tilted Food' started by web360top, May 4, 2013.

  1. Oh god, I'm going to have to try this sometime just to see what happens. Disaster? Success? TAKING ALL BETS.

Congrats, man for having a list of places that I've *never* heard of!
    Well, except for Wendy's.

Then again, being half a world away will do that, too ;)

McDonalds is still tops in my book. You know what you're getting anywhere, and I like the taste. Chik-Fila is also good. Started eating it in GA, now its out here in the midwest. But the up and coming one that I also love is Five Guys. Great greasy burgers, and the fry servings are huge. They cut their own potatoes (50 or 60 sacks of potatoes in the store which help delineate the order line) and they taste great. Also free peanuts. Scoop what you want. Started eating them in MD, now also out here in the midwest.

I have no idea. It's not in my current part of the state, but they are popping up in the urban part of the state. Also, Cafe Rio kicks Chipotle's ass.

Harvey's used to be great but when they started using frozen fries, it went downhill.

I worked there in high school and managed to get out of having to cut and blanch potatoes. My friends, however, did bags and bags and bags of potatoes (give me a greasy grill to break down and clean any time of the week, just keep the monotony of blanching fries out of my life).

The one that is most consistently clean, fast, and friendly is Chick Fil A. I don't go there much, but it amazes me how consistent all of the locations that I visit are.

The one I probably visit most often is Wendy's. They are usually very fast too, and are accurate with their orders.

Five Guys is probably my favorite, but the locations are conducive for frequent visits for me, there is no drive through, and I stuff my face too much when I go there.

I have a bone to pick with Chick Fil A. Granted, I think that their leadership gets a lot of things wrong with their hardcore Christianity, but they have a right to take a stance and at least they are consistent.

No, my problem has to do with signage. They recently built a new store near my folks. They insisted on putting what they refer to as a "highway sign" up that would have been 40' taller than any other sign within a mile. It would be one thing if they were near a highway, but there was a 300' hill between the store and the interstate. It was only after the threat of a lawsuit that they agreed to a smaller sign more fitting with what their neighbors are doing. Other stores in the area have been poor corporate neighbors with their traffic patterns and trash pickup.

I kinda hate most fast food places, but we end up eating at them far more than I'd like. I love that Five Guys offers malt vinegar for fries.Yummy.

I think I'd have to go with Chipotle or Moe's as my favorite...but the closest locations for both are an hour away, so I'll settle for Salsarita's.

Edit: Oh, and I love the lemonade at Backyard Burger.

  13. I avoid fast food whenever possible. That said, will take Quiznos, Subway or Jimmy Johns over a burger joint any day.

I forgot about Mo's -- in the same food court as my other faves and just a block away from the office --

Tim Horton's does have pretty kickass coffee. We have a few in Ohio... they haven't made it this far south to NC, though.

Yeah, I got so excited when Timmy's started appearing in Michigan which is part of our route to Canada.
I like Tim's for it's coffee but more so because it reminds me of my former home (Ontario).
We don't eat much fast food.
When my family gets take-away food, it's often from the little Vietnamese place a couple miles away. We've quit burger joints entirely.
For a sandwich or salad, Jason's deli.

An establishment that doesn't even offer pastrami is not worthy of the name "sandwich shop" and should not be allowed to call itself "gourmet."

  20. I live in the Midwest, what is this pastrami you speak of?
