NATO in talks to put nuclear weapons on standby, boss tells UK's Telegraph

Want to play a game???
I wonder if anyone remembers Wargames?

There's a reason they call the posture, MAD. ...Mutually Assured Destruction...

Wonder if Xi and China will tell Putin to back off and stand down, with the Nuclear saber rattling. (Because China would be just as damaged in a global confrontation)
Someone has got to be the sane player on the "bad guy" side.

    More Louisiana nonsense...

    https://www.axios.com/local/new-orleans/2024/06/19/louisiana-ten-commandments-in-classrooms

Hopefully this won't withstand legal challenge. I also hope that the students deface or tear down the posters at every opportunity (if it ever happens).

A not-so-little gem linked in the above story.

    https://www.axios.com/local/new-orleans/2024/05/30/louisiana-education-savings-accounts-jeff-landry

By all means let's make certain only people with money get the education that will allow them to control business, the judicial system, & politics. With plenty of brainwashing along the way.

Billions of people just felt the deadly intensity of climate-fueled heat waves — The Washington Post

    IMHO, oh well…
It’s a damn shame and tragedy to be sure
BUT…we were warned, they’ve been saying this for decades

    So we roast.
Look at it as a way of population control.
Hey, if 10 billion crabs can die off in a year because of climate change, why not some humans???

    Yes, we can help
But it would take a GLOBAL trial of locking down the Pandora’s box of waste and excess.
corporate, govt and individuals, all the above.

And that won’t guarantee that it will improve.
It “could be” just natural change.
But the effort would be helpful anyways.
“Clean up your room” puts the odds in your favor.

    So, people die…
We’re gnats on fleas on a huge dog, scratching away.
We’re maggots about to be dried out in the sun.

Better hope you’ve got shelter, water, AC
and the $$$ to paid the bill. Because the bill has come.
And this “collector” is ruthless and uncaring.

    Don’t ask “why?”
    Ask, “why not???”
We’re not as important as we thought we were.
    (Past tense, for a reason…)

I've always said we won't destroy the entire earth, just the atmosphere that lets us live here.

We'll reach the point where environmental suits will be required. And just like healthcare situation we currently have, the more money you have, the expensive insurance you can afford, the better quality your life sustaining equipment will be.

Of course politicians will set up their health insurance for 100% coverage (what they currently have, IIRC). Top business executives will have the insurance & the equipment.

The poor will get by with what equipment trickles down to them; again, just like we have now, except the threat to our health will be there 24-7-52-365.

If you think about it we're partially there, consider air conditioning. We're already seeing what heat is doing to people's health in major cities where HVAC isn't common. We leave our AC house, we drive our AC vehicles (adding to the problem), we work in AC offices, we eat in AC restaurants, we workout in AC gyms, etc. No wonder we don't think globally warming is real, or a real threat.

This goes beyond the election and individuals
    And even had global consequences

Tyranny Expert Sums Up A Trump Win With 2 Ominous Words — HuffPost

    IMHO, he’s right.

I guess most is repairable, as long as there’s no nukes
But we’d likely have to reboot
    Like France after Napoleon
    Italy after Mussolini
    Etc

Even a full update to the Constitution
Other countries have done it, why not US?

    Hey, if we survive…lessons learned.

What happens if NPD Trump loses a very close election (after he starts screaming voter fraud)?

All I'm seeing is a series of unfortunate events turn into a burning train wreck...
And a relatively stable world turn into chaos, by our leaders allowing radicals take advantage, bit by bit.
There is no control, death by 1000 cuts.

Unless the sane and stable leaders rein it in and convince normalcy...
But no, many VIPs are just having selfish hissy fits not thinking about the consequences.
This is Chaos Theory in action.

    The dice are rolling...

Trump's Project 2025 is now being searched in Google more than Taylor Swift and the NFL

Now DailyKos is a "bit" biased to the Left, I'll admit.
But a stat is a stat...and it's interesting. (I know, I know..."lies, damned lies and statistics" thank you Sam )

But the word IS getting out there about Project 2025
And Chump can't disavow, many of his aides and allies are up to their necks in it.

Let the bells ring and shout it aloud. Project 2025 is coming...
You know conservatives, they don't give up any idea...they'll just change the year if TFG loses, for the next GOP prez.

Again it's not just the one person for prez you need to concern yourself with
It's ALL they peeps they bring with them.

When Fighting Disinformation, Even the Best Tools Are Not Enough

We are getting to the point we're drowning in lies, skews, twists...not seeing where the air bubbles go to...not knowing which way is UP.

It's a maze and many don't know how to traverse it.

Those with false hoods, claiming they're truth-sayers and their opposition are liars.

"Every accusation is a confession" has become a cliche.

And the pace of it all is overwhelming to many. (some just turning it all off, preferring to be totally uninformed)

This is part of the Future Shock that I've noted before.
And our minds often can't handle it...even making us crack... or worse, make bad decisions.

IMHO, I think they should start enforcing fraud laws more...including with business.
These are laws on the books, and if they get into the trend, others will follow.

Right now, it's become the Wild West...lawless or little law.

A lot political disinformation isn't the clear malicious manipulation of provable facts. Frequently it's a twisted version of things open to interpretation.

The news media basically has to use op-ed to cover political news.

People look for info that supports what they already believe or want to believe. They're attracted to people like themselves, making group think very real. And that makes them easy to manipulate.

    Edit... (the bold is mine)

Little Big Man, Allardyce B. Merriweather giving advice to Jack Crabb:
"Listen to me, a two legged creature will believe anything and the more preposterous the better: whales speak French at the bottom of the sea. The horses of Arabia have silver wings. Pygmies mate with elephants in darkest Africa. I have sold all those propositions."

Project 2025 Is a Blueprint for Canceling American Democracy

    It's not if it's coming, it's when...
If not Chump, then whenever the next GOP prez gets in.

This is a very organized push by the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society...many judges and government insiders and players, helped make it or bought into it.
While Chump is officially backing off of it, many of his previous administration, potential administration, aides and allies have an agenda for it.

Yes, I realize the Sierra Club is not a conservative friend, but the article was a good summary of the potential dangers of the P2025 plan.
So I deviated from my usual try to neutral media and put it up. (I just don't want to write that much )

I don't need to go into the alarm signaling statements, because TFA sez it all. A good read. Not too long.

But they're right, it's something to be VERY concerned with.
Question is, are they going to DO something???

A huge dose of poison draws immediate attention.

Small doses of poison over time goes nearly unnoticed until it's nearly too late, or too late.

That lists mentions several federal agencies being defunded, and eliminated; it doesn't specifically mention the ATF (technically BATFE).

The guns nuts might wonder why. The answer:

The Government (TG) will initially support gun rights for all citizens.

TG will then select certain citizens to be members of some type of armed Home Guard (HG, thanks go to Charles Frazier, author of Cold Mountain). Like the Nazis did.

The Home Guard will be used to help disarm the common peasants.

The military and HG will be used to control the now unarmed general population.

Eventually only the top, meaning the most loyal, members of HG will be armed.

The above will happen slowly. TG will turn on and eliminate the groups it used to gain absolute power.
