Larger spiders, give me the willies, but I preserve them, too. I guess I don't like grubs very much, either. I'm not fond of people who are overly into money, status and/or malls. I find them to be creepy.

Random guys that come up and take pictures of groups of women they don't know, while the ladies are posing for their own photo. My Irish friend nearly took out the guy's phone... I caught it before the phone fell and deleted the picture. He was pissed, but that's totally creepy.

The reason this requires an altercation is what, exactly?

You afraid that an iPhone is gonna steal your soul or something?

Were your tits out? What's the deal?

    Torture scenes that involve cutting.
Sharp blades being wielded in any way.
Yes, I had a childhood trauma involving cutting when I was about 10 years old wherein I was directing the neighbourhood kids in an impromptu play and I needed to fashion some of the 'costumes' from large paper (grocery) sacks. My mum couldn't be arsed to get me the (her) scissors to do the job properly so I went to the kitchen knife drawer and found the sharpest knife I could find and then made a bloody mess of myself, quashing what could have been a really great show.

  8. ^ yeah, movie scenes that depict rape or torture

No, but three of said four women were highly intoxicated and one has had a bad experience with being posted on the internet without her permission being obviously intoxicated and holding a beverage. Facey-space has violated privacy so much that a number of my friends freak out when this kind of thing happens. Plus, who wants to think about what a smarmy asshole who is running around taking pictures of random women is actually doing with those pictures.
Additionally, had his hands remained on my friend a moment longer before I returned his phone, he would have been drop kicked in the balls. I don't care who has your phone or what gender they are... you don't lay your hands on a stranger.

there was a story on NPR last week about teachers who were losing their jobs because photos of them holding cocktails, at bachelorette parties or otherwise being normal adults were posted on other people's facebook pages and spotted by parents. it's a goofy ass world we live in.

But "laying your hands" on a stranger's phone is OK? For snapping a pic in a public place? THAT creeps me out.

Completely agreed with Lindy. That is messed up, noodle. Can't follow your logic on that one at all.

You actually believe your actions were justified, especially to drop kick him in the balls for getting pissed at you practically stealing his phone? If you think you have the right to remove someone's property against their consent because you have to defend your friends from being photographed based on the fear of what he would possibly do with the picture, you're terribly mistaken.

When your friends are scarred from a bad experience involving alcohol and photos being taken, maybe they should consider not making a fool out of themselves in public instead of having their uppity friends take other people's phones away and delete their data. Or worse, those same friends kicking people in the balls after they get pissed that their property was taken from them, which may have been illegal ( KirStang back me up on this). EDIT: Illegality of removing one's property against their consent, not the dropkick.

Lawyercat to the rescue: In Florida, temporary deprivation of another's property, or use of such property, without a claim of right, is larceny. Especially when the subject object is over $300 (such as in iPhone), would constitute a 3rd Degree Felony. I don't make the laws. I just fight em'.

You have a right to your opinion.

Still creeps me out. And THAT is what the thread is about.
Not larceny or the potential kick to the balls or my friends' actions.
A man taking pictures of random women and then pinning one's ass to his groin with her arms at her sides beneath a bear hug and refusing to let her go is fucking creepy.
Regardless of the situation. Unless you're lovers.

Ticks. Pulled one of them shits out of my armpit yesterday. Bugger left a hole. Felt squeamish all day as the burn constantly reminded me I had a parasite on me for 72 hours.

I was gonna comment on that then thought, 'Why bother?'
There are as many definitions of hippy as there are feminist now. I ask people to define who they are referring to when they speak of 'dirty hippies.' Inevitably they are far too young to remember what were commonly known as hippies and they go on about all kinds of things un-hippy-like.
I can't even have a civil discussion about being a feminist and that was once clearly defined.
To sum up: I've been a feminist since I was 13 y.o. and a hippy since about age 18.
I've been thought of and called lots of things but never to my knowledge 'creepy.'

Here's a creepy thought. There are a lot more hippies than you have any idea of. They don't speak up all the time because of narrow little minds making judgement calls on stuff they know nothing of. Duh-duh-dun!
