What chores do you enjoy?

i too love cleaning my car. i also enjoy cleaning glass, windows or ikea furniture; the perfection of streak free is like an impossible samurai art.

i hate laundry, never could fold anyting as well as my japanese gf,

 

This summer I've enjoyed mowing the lawn, on riding mower. Instead of making my son do it, I realized I can enjoy the sun and listening to radio for 1-2 hours without being bothered with anything else.

 

I like mowing the lawn too. But not at this time of year. We have an apple tree in the yard and when the apples are big and heavy, the branches hang down and it is difficult to mow under them. Also the apples on the ground make the mower slide around like on ball-bearings. We don't bother picking up the apples. We just let them rot there and they are gone by the spring. The rabbits and birds love them.

I also love cooking, but so does my sweetie and she is the boss of the kitchen, so I don't cook as much as I'd like.

 

You know, it's good excercise to throw apples before mowing. If you can do that. We are surrounded by fields, so they are not like ending on neighbour's yard. We have two trees as well, had a few branches cut this spring to make the mowing easier.

 

OMG, I'd rather die or run a marathon, than scrub pots and pans! On the other hand, I like to spend a whole day doing laundry and ironing the items that need ironed. My husband is a lucky man, IMO, cuz he doesn't mind doing tha pans and he's done in 10 minutes. Me & ironing - sometimes it takes a couple of hours! But at least we look good (not like we slept in our clothes)

 

I enjoy doing the dishes. I always have, I guess it's calming. My friend cooks all the time, so I do the dishes, you know to even it out and she's always laughs - because she has a dishwasher, and I don't use it.

 

lol interesting question. i don't like chores but you want to know what's funny? sometimes i feel like washing dishes can be relaxing...SOMETIMES haha

Since moving to OH, the two things that I know and hate are yard work and its bastard companion gardening. But, I live with a woman who has both. I have restricted my activities in this regard to one simple rule.......Power tools ONLY! Not sure why, but if I can plug it in, or pull start it, then I doesnt bother me to the point I want to strangle old people and chickens.

 

When I have the time I enjoy cooking, especially when I'm experimenting with new recipes. As far as less commonly enjoyed chores go, I'd have to say I quite enjoy organizing. DVDs, books, various coffee table clutter, whatever. I have to be in the right mood, but sometimes I just go organization crazy.

I have over 600 DVDs alphabetized. Did that in about two hours.

 

chopping vegetables, cooking, tilling/gardening

 

cleaning the bathroom when i'm nervous and feel like i could kill someone. i put my rubber gloves and kill the bacteria.

 

Washing dishes, especially when I'm angry. I get them brutally clean.

Ooh, just noticed I'm in good company with this chore.

 

Walking the dogs though I agree with an earlier comment that if you like it, it isn't a chore so maybe walking the dogs is more a responsibility I enjoy. I also like the sense of accomplishment of a task completed. Right now I am enjoying sweeping leaves off the deck (we live in a condo so the landscaping guys take care of the grass). I like wax-washing the wood floor in the kitchen and hallway. I don't ever cook because I think if you don't enjoy preparing a meal--it just doesn't taste good and a not-appropriate-for-here situation guaranteed that I would never again enjoy cooking. I really do not enjoy cleaning toilets but I'm good with cleaning the glass doors of the shower/tub.
