For some odd reason I'm quite partial to cleaning the kitchen after a big cook, I just like tuning out and not really thinking about anything. I also quite enjoying doing maintenance on my bikes, but I'll enjoying anything technical that involves using my hands that isn't computer related.

There are many things that I enjoy more than chores. If I had to choose: I enjoy cleaning up clutter, I enjoy helping my kids clean their rooms, and I enjoy cleaning the fridge.

Likewise, I don't really consider cooking a chore. Although it could easily become a chore if I had to put out three meals a day for a family. I enjoy washing some dishes. I always hand wash the pots and pans, I don't like the way the dishwasher does them, and if I have to rinse them... I might as well just wash them.:) On the other hand, I hate washing utensils and tableware. That always goes in the dishwasher. I generally do cups and glasses by hand with a dishmop. I enjoy folding laundry, although most of my things hang in the closet. I like paying the bills and keeping track of the financial stuff. I like handwashing and detailing the cars. Even my 30 year old Eagle still looks fresh and respectable, though not pristine. I'll reserve my hates for the other thread...

If I like doing something then it's not a chore.

Me, too! I mean, once I actually motivate myself to start the organization process. It's the one "chore" that I really get enjoyment out of.... especially when it involves my bookshelves. I like that everything has a place, even though I may be the only person to understand why an item is in a particular spot.

None. I tolerate washing dishes more than others, but I still dislike it.

    Washing/waxing the car.
Gardening but only for a couple hours at a time. Longer than that and my back starts to ache.

I love doing yard work, but no yard. I will do just about ANYTHING to get out of having to do laundry. I have seriously contemplated just having everything dry cleaned all the time, except I have no car and would have to essentially carry my laundry 4-5 blocks. That's just enough work to make it not feasible.

I keep my home as minimalistic as I see fit so for me its just busting out the swiffer sweeper and going over the tiles/wiping down the tables, chairs, etc. Not too much to clean considering I dont have any posters, knic knacks (sp?), etc. Just the bare essentials. Also mowing the lawn is nice...specifically enjoy doing so for the calorie expenditure...kill two birds with one stone.

Emptying the dishwasher, it's nice having a full cabinet of cleans glasses and plates/bowls.

I like doing most chores when the mood takes me....however this tends to be hardly ever and only when I have something like a huge essay due or something else urgent.

    This.

Specific tasks that I (thoroughly) enjoy: cleaning my bike and shoveling snow, neither of which happen often enough.

I'll say cooking - I think the bonus is that I only do it 2 or 3 times a week, the benefit of having a not (paid) working wife. There is nothing better than whipping up some pancakes or French toast for breakfast, or the happiness that comes from watching your children wolf down whatever you've cooked (yes, sometimes that doesn't happen, but thankfully those times are few and far between).

I like cooking and washing dishes ok. I kind of like putting stuff together, like last night I put together a new tv stand for my new 40" tv, then I went to bed without watching it.

I must admit, anything that gives me fast noticeable results is a little more enjoyable. Like say, folding sheets and towels, washing pots and pans, or something simliar is more fun. Dusting (especially nic-nacs - of which I put most into cabinets so I don't have to dust those more than every couple years.) or vacuuming carpets... this is not as noticeable, as fast, or as much fun.

I really like shoveling snow, but never get the opportunity since I live in managed apartments.
