I think Antifragile is even better because it coalesces a lot of his earlier ideas, and I agree with you, nothing by him is an easy read. Sometimes comes off as Ayn Randish, but he has what I think is a very healthy wariness of academics and of "conventional wisdom" which has so often proved to be wrong.

    CinnamonGirl The Cheat is GROUNDED!

Decided last night to reread the Whores on the Hill by Colleen Curran. It's honestly not as good as I remembered it, which is kind of disappointing.

I bought, started, and finished Divergent by Veronica Roth last night. Very Hunger Games-ish-- dystopian society set in Chicago; kickass female protagonist; factions instead of districts, though. I'll probably be getting the second book soon.

I've been meaning to pick up that series, but I've got 5 books remaining in my YA Summer Stack to get through first.

Just now finished Insurgent, and went to check the price on the third book, Allegiant. IT DOESN'T COME OUT UNTIL OCTOBER. Harrumph.

The ending was...kind of a let down, I'll be honest. The big shocking reveal was more like, "um...what?" Definitely curious to see what comes of it, though.

Just finished Justin Cronin (I think that's right) - The Twelve. It was the sequel to The Passage. Pretty good for paranormal vampire apocalypse stories.

Currently reading Dan Brown. About halfway through.

  14. Scrimshaw by D. Lawrence Lee.

My best friend has finally finished and been published. I love his song writing, but his prose style is taking some getting used to. I'm just a few chapters onto it. Hoping it smooths out once the character intros get out of the way of the story telling.

I finally finished up The Drunk Diet (I was only a chapter and a half from the end, not sure why I stopped that close.) I've been indulging in the pure trashy fluff that is Sweet Valley... this time The Sweet Life, a seven part serial. Finished the sixth installment a couple nights ago, have yet to start the seventh. I've been switching between that and Boy's Life by Robert R. McCammon.

I'm over 500 pages into 1Q84.and I really like it. Except that I'm not quite halfway through. I think I might be sad when it's over, that's why I'm reading ng it so slowly. But, I can't do less than 50 pages at a time.. It totally sucks me in.

I was literally just about to write almost the same thing in this thread! I'm a little less than halfway through as well. Getting mildly obsessed with it.
