NPD Trump was allowed to meet with his parole officer virtually, AND with his attorney present.
Apparently the prosecutors had no objections, so Judge Merchan let it happen.

The virtual I can sort of understand, although that could mean NPD Trump had a team out of camera vision helping him.

The attorney I think this is BS. The point of the interview is to measure Trump, not his fucking attorney.

Man, they are seriously bending over for this guy. Probably had to make sure he didn't disclose national security secrets while he was there.

Donald Trump Doesn't Respect or Care to Help Veterans. He Just Wants Our Votes.

An opinion from Military .com yet.
But let's be honest, he doesn't care about ANYONE, he just wants their vote. Vet or not.
This is the most self-serving man EVER (to use his own hyperbole)
However, in truth...not even the GOP, they're just useful tools. He does what he "gets paid" for only. If you've got $$$, then that's it.
And if it makes him look good and NOT bad...then that's what he goes for.
    Whatever means to an end.
Once in office, who knows what the hell he's going to do...or allow.
We're all a bunch of suckers in his eyes.

    Hopefully, vets will know better...
Much less the rest of us.

Some, maybe most, of the "veterans" who believe NPD Trump are the ones who couldn't cut it in the military, yet still have delusions they could've been a SEAL, or some other Special Forces "badass." These people are common in the firearms community.

Some veterans think NPD Trump was the right leader to for a serious war, a war to reestablish the US as the leading world power. They overlook the last minute cancelation by Agent Orange 45 of an air strike in Iran because he didn't like the civilian casualty numbers.

The bone spurs comment doesn't mention Agent Orange 45 was very active in intramural sports in college (his born spurs could handle playing tennis).

The resistance to a new Trump administration has already started

If Trump is reelected, the independence of federal agencies could be at risk

IF America is stupid enough to put Chump back in office...things are going to get stupid surreal.

There actually could BE a civil war.
The military may actually resist the commander in chief. (as they did at times in the 1st one)

I guess I'll go with the same idea as before...as long as there's no nukes, things are repairable.

God knows there needs to be a ton of new laws put in place to limit presidential powers.
He has inadvertently shown where all the gaps and weak points are. (including SCOTUS)
IF there still is a US as we know it.

The first link doesn't work. I found two articles with identical? titles, I almost skipped the NYT one because of possible pay wall.

    https://www.deccanherald.com/world/...-administration-has-already-started-3-3068748

^ A rewrite (rearrangement) of the article below.

The Resistance to a New Trump Administration Has Already Started

It sounds like Naziism to me. With no resistance within the government under NPD Trump, he would control the agencies that meant to be part of the checks & balances.

NPD Trump has already done this, to a certain noticeable extent, with the judiciary.

At the (red) state level many state agencies, including the courts, are already tools of the hard right governors & attorney generals. Of course the glaring examples are Texas and Florida.

Fixed it. That's my fault for overlapping paths in it.

Actually, you'd be surprised how much the established players have power over the politician figurehead put in.
I've seen this in play when I've been working in the Federal govt as a contractor. If they dig their heals in, he'll have trouble getting things done.
Hell, I've seen one top bureaucrat get the political appointee and the contractor CIO ousted at once in one power play.

I think he'll have more trouble than it's worth. They weren't prepared last time...giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Now, they're making trenches... (I'd say, good for them)

Is some cases I wouldn't be surprised, in other I would be.

One of the great examples of "No, we're not going to do that" defiance frequently mentioned is the US military refusing to remove nuclear missiles even after several orders to do so by JFK. IIRC (it's been several decades since I studied it) leaving the missiles in place turned out to be the right thing to do.

    Edit...
Wasn't NPD Trump known for leaving important top positions vacant as a means to neuter agencies he couldn't officially shut down? I know there’s a name for this tactic, but I can't remember it.

I believe finding ways to defund agencies was another tactic (not original to Agent Orange 45, controlling the purse strings is a very old tactic).

Yes, he did that. But the bureaucrats were playing by the rules back then.
Now they're aware of what they're up against, and know how to use the formal rules to help them out.
Chump will find that they're harder to hurt and peg down.
AND once they budget has been allocated by Congress, he can't stop them totally. (it takes a Congressional act to shut down a Dept)

He tried that with the CFPB and found that the way the rules were setup, he couldn't defund them, they're paid as a percent of the Fed intake.
It's little things like this that will take him forever to do. (legally)

    Of course he does...
Uhhh, sir...that was NOT in your official capacity as prez.
Hell, you weren't even prez yet.

Judge sez, "No soup for you!!", in 3, 2, 1...
    That's a no brainer.

BTW, that's in a New York court. (SCOTUS ain't got anything to do with it...it's NOT Federal)

    Not so fast...Merchan has blinked.

    https://www.salon.com/2024/07/03/su...er-be-necessary-after-scotus-immunity-ruling/

It seems as though Merchan delaying until after the election.

    IMO it's easy and plain:
1a. This started before Trump was elected POTUS.
1b. This has nothing to do with Trump as POTUS.
    2. This was criminal activity, regardless of what job/position Trump held.

While I'm in favor of burying Trump under as much shit as possible, the start of the above case is very shaky and hence suspect.

OTOH a young girl/woman would have very good reason to fear reprisals from two very powerful and wealthy men.

    Without witnesses and proof,
another she said, he said situation?

‘I’d Rather Have 10 Ken Starrs Than One Donald Trump’

It's as I've said before...in a way, Chump has shown us all the gaps and weaknesses in the system and our laws.
It's like he's COVID-19 or a Stress Test...pushing the limits...attacking the holes and the vulnerabilities are taken advantage of.

People and politicians, even laws and policy, have often relied on honor, integrity, values and some backing down under backlash or being humbled.
Chump has none of this. He pushes for what he wants. He pushes hard. And he pushes continually. Rarely backing down, more often doubling down.
With Shock & Awe tactics, many are unprepared for his audacity. Blitzkrieg like.

I don't know if the public will truly push back.
I don't know if he'll let them if he gets power again.

Trump’s fatal weakness suddenly exposed — MSNBC

    Uhhh, fatal weakness???

Y’think that his insanity would be it
    Incompetence
    Yammering
    Corruption
    Crimes (civil and criminal)
    Rapes
    Bad business
    Bankruptcies (7)
    Attempted coup
    Lies
    Narcissist
    Etc and so on…

This laughably scary plan made by 140 of his aides & allies…just add it to the pile.

Sooner or later, the cards will fall.
    I hope.

Of the people who know a little something about P2025, how many care about it? And how many care what NPD Trump knows about it?

Of the people who know a lot about P2025, how many are surprised Agent Orange 45 is involved?

But if he wants to deny it, and if that truly is causing rifts in the GOP, that's a good thing.
