I don't think we have a thread for this trial .

Trump says he may attend his civil fraud trial in New York after asking to reschedule a conflicting deposition | CNN Politics

If I were the judge in Florida granting the request to delay the deposition I would make it absolutely clear to NPD Trump he had better show up at the trial in NYC.

It would be interesting to see what happens if NPD Trump doesn't appear at the NY fraud trial. Did he not learn anything from the Carroll trial?

OTOH we the taxpayers -- which apparently excludes NPD Trump ‐- are paying for his Secret Service detail. And much of that money is being paid to businesses owned by NPD Trump.

    *******
Am I ignorant in thinking not showing up at your trial, even if your absence is entirely legal, is a really stupid thing to do?

This is going low, but I gave into temptation.

Melania Trump Renegotiated Her Prenup in Case Trump’s Legal Problems Bleed Him Dry: Report

NPD Trump paying (for) his trophy wife is not new news. Her renogiating the terms, apparantly several times, probably isn't either. At 77 he can't recruit them like he did 20 years ago.

To raise this above gossip, &
tie it to NPD Trump's legal problems...
What if he & his worldly wife are using the prenuptial to hide/protect assets? I'm sure the courts protect the spouse and offspring in some ways, & I'm sure NPD Trump is the person to manipulate those laws.

I was too late to edit the above post.
    Same subject, more detailed article.

    I’ll believe it when I see it…
He “might” show up for a bit, the first day.
But he doesn’t have an ounce of patience.
If he can escape, he will.

Besides, if I were his lawyers, I wouldn’t want him there
    1. He’s a distraction
    2. He’ll bitch and rage about everything
    3. He’ll insist on changing tactics even more than he does now

I was thinking of the impression it makes on jury members...which isn't an issue in this trial...unless the upcoming part of this trial does involve a jury (?).

This article does a good job of breaking down NPD Trump's fraud trial in NYC.

Trump fraud trial begins in New York on Monday: What to know | CNN Politics

One of his attorneys said there are 400 to 500 entities. He has businesses in other states. There are reports of numerous overseas businesses (some of these are on paper only, just NPD Trump protecting his brand so to say). I previously questioned if anybody, even his accountants, know exactly what is going on with his finances.

Legal experts: Trump's unhinged attack on judge in court shows he "realizes he's going to lose"

Another anomaly...like the Thomas recusal. I can't believe that Chump showed up to the trial.
    BUT...
He used it as a podium, striking out at the judge and the AG while in the courthouse (not in the courtroom though)

I'm sorry, even Chump should know not to go after the judge in a trial.
Politics isn't going to save your butt.

Yes, he may win to his supporters...but the judge is going to crater your biz
and the AG is going to fine you WAY larger than $250 million. (some are saying up to $650 mil...I'd say in the end, IMHO, a cool billion )

    kramus what I might see

Bigly is as bigly does. It’s time in the story for the final stumbling fall. As in all bigly stories, there will be many clamouring voices as the hamstrung bellowing beast flounders it’s death throes in the town square.

NPD Trump has already lost. What remains to be seen is how much & how. So NPD Trump decides to attack the judge making those decisions. A real genius* move.

That depends on what a "full gag order" means.

NPD Trump probably has the right to make general comments about his trial, which is fair enough (even though I can't stand him).

The huge gray area is how does a judge determine what effect NPD Trump's comments have on the public in general, & his rabid supporters specifically? If we say to hell with his violent supporters we need to be ready, not simply willing, to use violence against them.

A full gag order is extremely tempting, but it could have an unwanted consequence: He could whine about the gag order without actually breaking the gag order.

A full gag order could be a nice trap for NPD Trump. He'll inevitably break it, and when he does the judge could hammer him with sanctions.

    Results weighed against consequences.

Trump Just Received Another Massive Blow To His Ego

    Winning???
Loser. A real one, not just a name.
Chump is a good one too. Now, that's a name. :p

Hope he keeps losing it all, bit by bit.
You dude, cost people their lives. For real, literally. (I'll remember those cops on Jan 6th )

One thing about Forbes, mentioned in one the threads: They still ranked NPD Trump based on the numbers provided by him, even after writing they knew he was very likely providing inflated numbers, & he had pretended to be a financial officer. This' documented by Forbes.

But...yes, a blow to NPD Trump's massive ego.

Trump seeks dismissal of hush money case, saying it’s hurting his campaign — POLITICO

Now, there’s 5 criminal cases that we know of
    And in the news
I think the 1 civil case on the rape defamation
    That’s in the news too.

That’s what we are aware of…

I wonder how many civil cases and lawsuits are going on already??
Or will be exploding in the near future?
(I’m sure the loss of licenses will trigger quite a few)
These may not be bloody enough for the news to report on.

Will Chump be able to catch up with them all?

I hope it all becomes a blur to him.
    Serious schadenfreude :D

NPD Trump tried to save a few tax bucks with a false business expense. I wonder how much he has spent on attorneys (assuming he has paid at least some of the legal bills)?

    Fraud is fraud...KISS Mr. Chump
You lie, you can be tried.

    You got caught, you're responsible.

Now he's just squirming to get out of anything...a rat cornered.

Speaking of squirming, guess he didn't want to squirm on the record...
Trump drops lawsuit against Michael Cohen just days before former president was to be deposed

So much for intimidation. (yet another method he tries)
    Winning yet?

My question is, not that he won't be damaged...the momentum is now against him, he's drowning.
My question is, how long until the GOP and his supporters let him drown.
They're crazy and doubling down too.
So when will crazy drop crazy?

    This I have no clue.
Because it's not logical or rational.
