Good trump on more ICE arrests.

248 arrested in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Delaware, during ICE operation targeting criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants and other immigration violators

    This asshole.
    This asshole Mick Mulvaney.
I know he is doing his job defending Trumps monstrous budget but so fuck him.\

I don't know where the fuck Trump found this guy but it's like the they asked Central Casting for an stereotypical evil corporate scumbag who would get squashed by the robot hero at the end of the movie.
    Talking about Meals On Wheels,
    Talking about school kids,
Oh, by the way, he's lying.
Kids do much better when they can eat.
Jadzia knew that, which was why she bought food out of her own pocket.

    What??
You're expecting him to actually make sense??

All his statements are...are something to make his base and supporters to think he's being "strong" and "doing something"
To them, it's NOT what you say.
    But HOW you say it.

The same people who think a tie makes you more of an authority.
    Glasses more intelligent.
A lab coat more of a doctor
And a ribbon or medal more of a hero

It's much easier when you don't have to think...but you just look & listen to prompts and postures.

WE have to DO something SERIOUS here!!
And I...am just the MAN to do IT!!

Sorry, as much as I love Snopes they screwed the pooch on this one.
And Reason has it's own ax to grind when it comes to federal money being spent on things it disagrees with, like feeding people.

I've worked with non-profits before and even though the amount that comes from the block grant is small it is what keeps the lights on.
You do all the 'stuff' with donations but when it comes down to the what keeps the program in existence it is the grant.
I have seen too many important programs for people with disabilities go poof because the grant disappeared.
All the donations in the world will not make up for that garunteed, regular money that you can count on being in the account every month.
That is why landlords will rent to you, you can get other funding, and the electric company will turn on your lights.

So i heard this story yesterday about how the US was stopping passangers on some foreign airlines from having anything bigger than a smartphone in the cabin. Ebooks, ipads, laptops and things had to be checked in and stored underneath.
The people on the radio were trying to work out why.
You can still trigger a bomb or something from your phone. So it is no safer and it will cause problems at the airports, what if you're transferring onto one of these airlines?

I saw this Washington post article today that starts to make sense ofthe new rule

Banning electronic devices that aren't smartphones doesn't make sense from a security point of view. If the terrorists can communicate with a WiFi messaging program on smart phones, it doesn't matter. And explosives inside the device would be easy enough to test for by making sure it turns on.

And I'm not quite sure how it would get enforced on flights coming into the US. How would they know that security overseas isn't letting the devices through? It isn't like they have the TSA in the Middle East making sure tablets and laptops are checked.

Something tells me this is Trump's way of making business difficult for the highly competitive airlines in the Middle East.

I wouldn't put it past him, given his zero sum view of these sorts of things, that this has little to do with safety, and everything to do with trade.

That is what the Washington Post article is claiming. I'm just not sure how this will be enforced. Especially if it is determined to be a trade sanction against certain airlines flying out of places the US has no authority over.

It is one thing to say, we want the airlines to be secure and that the airline company doesn't want news of plane crashes or explosions on board for safety and financial reasons. It is another thing to want to ban large electronics to make the trip less comfortable or productive so business and first class passengers choose another airline. And I'm not sure why they would comply at the originating airport outside of the US.

Man, is there ANYTHING about Trump that is NOT like a cliché of an older version of the lead jock in Revenge of The Nerds???
It's like he's trying for it SO hard.

    It'd be like a joke...if it weren't so terrifying because it's real.

    wye Getting Tilted

Another great day today for the forgotten man (the historically marginalized demographic of aging corporate billionaire right-wing Judeo-Christian straight white males), as oil company executives and the National Economic Counsel (a group of fat cat investment bankers) oversaw the granting of a presidential permit for the Keystone XL pipeline. There were no labor economists, civil engineers, environmental scientists, petroleum geologists, indigenous community leaders, or local representatives present.

As reported by a research institute at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations, the Keystone XL pipeline will contribute a negligible number of jobs to the American economy (possibly costing more jobs than it creates) and is virtually irrelevant to energy independence (considering that companies extracting and refining Canadian oil are largely Asian-owned), indicating that the caption in the bottom right corner is more of the fact-free propaganda we've come to expect from this administration.

    He's not doing good today...
No repeal for 'Obamacare' _ a humiliating defeat for Trump

I guess shouting and demanding isn't such a good tactic (especially with folk who think they could be president themselves...)

Ryan isn't looking so hot either.

I wonder if the Dems will have the guts to filibuster the SCOTUS nominee, leveraging the losing momentum (LOSING!! ;))
