If more Repubs had some backbone like Kemp the GOP might return to being a party with a platform and an actual plan for the future.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Kemp fan boy, & I'm not turning Repub .

I think these cases are now going to linger on forever. Suppose the remaining 17 defendants get broken down into five trials, plus the Powell & Cheseboro trial.

How long would each trial take?
How many motions would be filed in each trial?
How many re-trials would be needed?
How many appeals would filed?
Etc, ad nauseum.

OTOH I think McAfee makes some very good points to justify his decision. I've often wondered the logistics of a 19 defendant trial, esp involving the SS and additional security because of NPD Trump.

I don't think the prosecutor has any intention of trying 19 defendants.
She's angling for a dozen or so to take plea deals and become witnesses for the prosecution to nail those at the top of the stinking heap (ie Trump**).

Unfortunately the logistics pretty much dictate the separate trials.

 

She's getting a slap on the wrist, but as you stated this should be big. Hopefully Powell will tie NPD Trump directly to knowingly trying to steal the GA votes in 2020.

 

She had to deliver the goods bigly to get that sweetheart deal.
