Tilted Sartorialism - The Menswear Thread

    Technically I'm closer to "older" than "younger" these days and I don't have any "heft" because I got in shape. Older men with heft are over weight.

    When you get older you maybe more prone to overlook/not care about the superficial as much, but its still there. Oddly divorce seems to get men closer to manikin shape again, older or otherwise.

    I don't think it's sad at all. Having done countless interviews, I can say that how you present yourself is everything. In a first round of interviews, nobody has time to get beneath the surface. A first round is just, personal hygiene, can they answer basic questions, and does their resume appear to match them?

    Showing up nicely dressed, giving a firm handshake, sitting up and looking the interviewer in the eyes may be basic stuff, but it matters if you want to get interview number 2.

    Actually in this case, I meant it was sad that a professional counselor was so quick to stereotype me.
    I do understand how interviews work, I've hired a lot of people over the years.
    I said the same words to him I had said before but now that I was wearing a suit he was willing to take me seriously.
