Things you can do in elevator?

I've had recurring nightmares about elevators for years, in which they behave very, very strangely. Pushing the button to the top floor more than once, for example, sent the car flying through the ceiling of the building, and not in the fun/cool/neato Charlie and the Chocolate Factory way. Others have gone sideways, upside down, backwards, diagonally, into freefall and come crashing down, killing everyone inside. Irrational nightmares they might be, but I like to keep the elevator gods happy.

That being said, to answer the question there's many things I'd do inside an elevator. Jumping up and down probably wouldn't be one of them.

Exactly! I get the same feeling that I get when I'm up high on a platform or some other high place with a view.
If I inadvertently cause the elevator to shimmy back and forth while getting into it, I have to grab the railing due to sudden vertigo.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was one of my favorite books as kid. That elevator was awesome. I haven't yet seen the whole movie, but it's on tv Saturday evening. I really need to take time to watch it.

There is a funny goof in that film with the elevator. When the elevator stops moving vertically and moves forwards the people inside are thrown forward when they should have been thrown backwards.

Nice to know in advance. I'll try and spot that scene.

The documentary about elevators told there were many horrid accidents in early days, when the elevators weren't that safe. Someone lost his head, for example, when he was looking into the shaft...

There's an option in some elevators' configuration that clears the panel when you press all the buttons. It's one of those things like pressing close door and the floor at the same time that you have to try out a few times when you're the only one on riding.

I prefer standing in the corner staring at everyone in creeper fashion. Yeah, I said it.

wow, that Chocolate Factory elevator was pretty cool. In the book, I was always impressed by the way they could fly out of the roof. I had forgotten, there was an earlier film made in 1971... Hehe, in this Johnny Depp version, they flew by the administrations offices and said 'Hello' to Doris, who was working there!

Stand facing the back wall...that's fun.

There are very few innocuous things you can do that can make people so uncomfortable. Also a fun interview question: "What would you do if you got into an elevator and everyone was facing the back?"
