It would be, but that guy scares the hell outta me. Don't get me wrong, I know things get really bad. His stuff with Michonne cinched it for me, tho'.

If you watch "Land of the Dead" by Zombie genre creator, George Romero, then there is a scene where the living try to escape zombies by boat. However, the dead just walk on the ground underwater and surface when they've reached the shore where the living are. So, if you approve of George's story, then, yes, Zombies can live underwater.

It fell down there and they either didn't know about it, or didn't want to kill it... Things will become more clear in the next episode if you're unfamiliar with the comics.

Ironic unless you've read The Walking Dead comics
as you just uttered a major plot point made by Rick.

And if I may, the last thing IMO, that TWD is, is depressing as it's NOT 'about zombies.' Rather it is about the human condition after an apocalypse. Survival, man's humanity and inhumanity to man is the point.

Well then! I really enjoyed that episode.
    The good:
The barn! Ohhhh the barn! I've been waiting for this, and it didn't disappoint. Also, I'm loving the rising tension between Herschel and the group. I'll admit, I totally thought Andrea killed Daryl... That would have sucked, but on the other hand it would have put this show into the "anyone can die at any time" category of the comics.

    The bad:
How long are they going to drag out this Sophia story line? Another week with no resolution? C'mon, man.

They needed a compelling reason to stay at Hershel's farm and to give us Daryl's story. Even so, kind of meh.

It could be worth it if they found Sofia in THE BARN. Also, it is more grim and horrifying like the comic books to go that route.

I thought Andrea killed Daryl, too. His whole horse-arrow-zombie sequence was really good except for a bit of a lengthy reunion with Merle
who now has been all-but-confirmed as NOT dead and returning to the series in a big way.

Fiancée and I agree: We hope Lory dies in an excruciating and painful way. Her character is unbelievably annoying, in the comic as well as in the TV show.

Just hate that in the comic
the baby is killed as well. Hope the baby gets to live in the TV show.

Lori Grimes is I agree, totally annoying both in the comic and the show. If she goes like she did in the comic you'll get your wish but not for YEARS in TV-land.
I had no feelings whatsoever for the infant. It didn't even have a personality yet, to like. It was a shock-value thing to me. Carl getting shot in the face was a little hard to take, tho'.

I just want to say I'm enjoying this. I've just finished the episode where they (almost) got the zombie out of the well. I don't want to read too far into the thread as I have one episode I haven't watched yet :)

I still need to buy episode 2 on itunes. I am still left hanging from the end of episode 1, but am fairly certain that character is not expandable yet. Of course I would dispose of such a character in a dramatic fashion myself so early in a season or in a story just to give the storyline a sudden twist.

I like that Merle was the motivator for Daryl to get up off his ass.

The iTunes store said that "Bloodletting" was Season 2: Episode 3 and the AMC website says that it is Episode 2 and that works for me. Watching my ipod download it right now. 190 MB into the 1.2 GB file.

I loved that scene and it was played well by both men. That's part of the attraction of this show for me. I've never seen most of the actors in the cast before now. And the ones I do remember, like Scott Wilson ('Hershel') the guy who starred in the 1970 film 'In Cold Blood,' I wouldn't have if I hadn't read up on him.[IMG]

Do you have a comic book store locally?
Yes, they are still 'going on'--Kirkman continues to write them. You need to go back to 2003 or so for the beginning but no worries, as they have been re-issued or at least repackaged into softcover volumes & hardcover books (containing the entire series, I believe). Do you have a library card? I've read the 1st 11 volumes through my local library. (There's a good reason they got a TV show--they were a big hit!) If you do decide to buy them online PM me. I can find you the best deal (I sell them via my site so am constantly searching for the best deal for my readers.)

    Me, too, Cyn!

And I totally called the last scene of this past episode. I knew it! Those people are too weird and too god-fearing for it to have been anything else.

I'd say check for local comic store locations online, and many book stores now have a graphic novel section in them so finding them locally shouldn't be difficult (every bookstore I've been to recently has TWD trades front and center of both the graphic novel and horror sections). They are still ongoing and are up to the 15th trade paperback (each one collecting about 5-6 issues of the comic per trade).

The one you'll be looking for first is called The Walking Dead: Days Gone By
The most common cover is this one.
