A few thoughts on the mid-Series 5 finale:

Beth had an excellent death, great way to do that. Removing that element of Maggie's emotional stability should make some nice twists.

I still say they should have killed off the Grimes baby. I like how that was done in the graphic novels, and still think the tv show would be stronger if it happens there; preferably in the most gut-wrenching manner possible.

  2. The Walking Dead FB page posted a big spoiler before the West Coast had a chance to watch the mid-season finale. I just happened to see it before I watched it. I think the episode would have been more enjoyable for me had I not seen it.

My fault for going on Social Media before the show aired? Probably, but before now they have been really good about NOT showing spoilers. It's one thing if my friends spoil it for me, but I thought it was sad that the show's page did that.

I did enjoy the comments though.

It spoiled it for me as well, but that is also true for:
(these were all due to my more normal state of being a full season behind or close to it of what has aired)

    - the governor killing Herschel
    - Eugene Lying
    - and some other things I forget now.

I just expect to have some spoilers when I am waiting for the show to hit Netflix before I watch it.

  4. I've read the comic books, so I know what's going to happen for the most part.

Beth and Daryl aren't in the comic books though, so everything they do (did) is new to me.

In the comic books, characters are different. Some die in the comics, but not the show and vice versa.

TWD is the only thing where I prefer the show over the book.

I watched the Talking Dead after last night's episode and I must say the actress who plays Beth looked a lot more attractive "in character" without makeup on than she did in real life WITH makeup on.

My first thought was that her makeup was a bit overdone, but I also realise that my opinion of how much makeup a woman chooses to wear means nothing.

Her breaking down while talking about leaving her friends and the show brought tears to my eyes.
I didn't really care for the character of Beth, but I felt bad that she had to be killed off just so the writers and producers could give the show more gravitas.

Ok, i thought they could have come up with something better than a hospital.

The hospital storyline was weak. I was grateful they moved as fast as they did with the Terminus location, and was hoping they would minimise (still have to fix the dictionary/spellchecker firefox is using) the time spent at Grady. I am looking forward to the relatively stable place they are heading next and hope the story stays fresh there. There is a lot of drama and killing of some main characters to do if they stay anywhere close to the source.

Will Gabriel become a warrior priest? There is such a thing. (the arc like Carol took, from weak to weapon)
Will Tyreese get over himself? (and get with Michonne, sans the comic)
Will Daryl & Carol get it on?? And have a kid named Daryl (compliments of Newhart :p - A rhyming family needs to stick together)
Will Eugene get laid? (allowing him to have some passion and become more useful...he's smart, just not fast enough)
Will Rick become more of an asshole?

I can tell you this...the women are showing stronger mettle than the men. Saner, less moody, more practical...and a bit of humor despite the situation. Kudos to them. (most of the men have snapped one way or another)

Not if they stay in the East...too many people.
Head West young man... (old & women too :)) - even just get to the other side of the Appalachians ...but more like Oklahoma/Arkansas border or regions as such (doable walk, not too bad of weather, including Winter...away from major cities)
Then again, wouldn't be a show with "conflict"

Their next stop in the story is more stable than anything they have had lately, but it does come with its own problems. The real question is how closely they are going to follow the graphic novels.

I still think Father Gabriel is Bantha Fodder and needs to be disposed of accordingly.
In the practical sense they should leave the more populated areas on the east coast but this story is based in this area.

Hopefully this upcoming spin off based in the same universe will show the early days and be based somewhere like Seattle or another location on the West Coast.

I really don't understand how Beth could have made the move that caused her death. Stupid.

i thought the way she dies was dumb, it could have been something like saving somebody, or the baby or something cool
