Excellent job on this one. Hershel's death was well done and arguably overdue, and they disposed of enough of the unimportant characters in the Governor's new camp. I was sad to see him die, but they will no doubt throw a new villain out there soon. More importantly that prison set was destroyed as a safe zone and they made the end messy and loud.
Rick's moving speech was correct and much smarter in the practical sense, but thankfully the Governor said "damn the torpedoes" and did the smart thing here story wise by choosing the slaughter option.
Seeing where they end up next will be interesting.

Walking Dead has really stepped it up this season. The last few years my enthusiasm had been waning, but I've been looking forward to Sunday nights again.

Season 4 has picked up the pace nicely halfway through. I like these clean slate type of moves to refresh the storyline.

I'm just happy Sunday's episode was Beth-centric. Yippee!

  6. Yes, I'm hoping she takes out the Slabtown people like she took out the Terminites........all on her own.

I would have had the wee Grimes baby killed by the walkers at the prison during the battle/zombie over run, but the Bus getting wiped out helped compensate for that not happening.

Despite that sign on the railway Tyrese and Carol find, I highly doubt this Terminus place is actually a sanctuary.

Moving those rusting junk cars that Maggie's group walks past onto the road from the 200 or so feet just off the road on Billy Bob's land was a nice touch. Speaking of Maggie, I prefer Glenn's bald look in the graphic novels, and do wish it had been possible for lauren to use her English accent somehow. Keeping Glenn at the prison to show the aftermath was a good move.

Ooh, the gent with the excellent facial hair has made his appearance. As I said previously I have not clue who this guy, what side he falls on, or any of that, so that should be good to watch play out.

Near the end of this run and it is shaping up quite solidly.

The biggest questions with this story would have to be 'What happened to Beth?" and "Who was driving that car that took her away?"

You can feel the windup for some big deliveries likely in the Series 4 finale that will continue right into the next series.
I might have to look at the free options online to watch Series 5 before they hit Netflix.

I really can't say anything since I'm completely spoiled. Pics don't really say much, though. From the next episode:
Carol Peletier in The Walking Dead Episode 5.06 “Consumed” BEFORE:

I will say that I'm not worried about Carol.

I feel seriously spoiled being able to watch the Series 5 premiere right after finishing Series 4 on netlix. The AMC website has the next episode up for more one day so I can avoid the slower more questionable sources elsewhere.
I distinctly remember waiting all summer between part 1 and 2 of Best of Both Worlds on ST:TNG, and definitely appreciate not having to wait however long people did between these two.

This Terminus place was definitely a good stop but it did feel more like a quick break on the way to what will probably be a disastrous trip to D.C.
Not bad for the start of a new series, especially after they spent what felt like 5 years at the prison and nearly as long at the farm.

  12. Thanks @fangirl

I don't think I ever knew Carol's last name...... I was confused for a second, maybe 10. I'm kind of slow these days.

Hey, when you rely on free TV you take what you they give you.

I only have five more left to watch before I am "current". This is beyond "bleeding edge" for me, I didn't start on Series 4 until the current one was airing.

Bit of a break after the showdown in the series 5 premier. Never did trust this preacher from the first time they found him.

This teaser with Beth, I like it. Pulling that tension tight and then revealing the survivors from Terminus was even better. What a delightedly different way to take out one of the main group with Bob here; this method even drags it out and holds the reveal for whatever dastardly deeds this preacher has done. I am hoping that Rick gets to put a bullet in his brain at some point after the cannibals thin down the characters some. They still have too many people for the Washington D.C. Trip and these Terminus folks need to closed out properly as well

    deaths in this one:
Bob's death was "ok". Not great, but still "ok"
The cannibals, good and bloody. Nice bushwack, but those silencers would have been louder in real life. file that under the same category as Daryl "firing" his crossbow in the resting position.
    Someone who should have died:
That priest - this character was borderline useless, should have not survived this long, and I don't care about his useless guilt trip over the not so big super secret. Not worth the buildup. This guy is seriously just Bantha fodder and needs to be zombie food onscreen ..moving on

The end, tight teaser yet again. The short preview of a hospital in what look like Atlanta (already know it is from the Facebook feed) and a promise to finally show what happened to Beth draws you right in.

unfortunately that same facebook feed revealed enough of Eugene's secret for me but, I have no clue what happens on this D.C. trip. I am guessing the whole trip is a clusterf**k in any event with some excellent kills on both the zombie and character front.

I educated myself more on the source material in the graphic novels, and I am really curious if the tv show

will feature Glenn dying in an ambush by the Saviors in the Alexandria Safe-Zone timeline or any similar method. They have already made some significant changes with the very presence of Daryl, Andrea dying at all and that early, and Rick not losing his hand (I understand giving that one to Merle in the TV show). That would be a dramatic thing to include in Series 6, and I think superb for story development properly done.

In shocking news, I am watching last week's episode now on AMC now and planning on watching the mid season finale when it actually airs. This will be the first time ever I am watching an episode when it is fresh.

    catchin' up...just watched season 5, 1,2 & 3 today.

Damn "on demand" didn't start with the new episodes until way later...then removed the first 3 quick, leaving just 4 on...to see.
Sorry, if my schedule didn't match...isn't that what all this "omni-media" I have is for???

Anyways, at least I'm thru the Terminus portion.
I read the comics, but it's interesting watching the show.

The "bad part" of watching these shows when they first air is the bloody commercials. After watching everything before these two on Netflix or another streaming site, I am used to the commercial breaks lasting seconds.
