I've heard it speculated that the brief scenes are there to underscore a "supernatural" element to the re-animation. Remember, something similar happened to Jim in season 1.

haha, yea, those flashes were weird; i thought david lynch had taken over directing there for a minute and maybe a backwards talking midget would come out of the forest.

Hey dodger01: I may have accidently switched it out when I was pulling videos off my posts from now-banned YouTube accounts (not mine) and replacing them with AMC's own clips so...here it is. The flashes begin and are over in thef irst seconds of the video.

She is one pretty lady. And she sounds really fun too, from the video.
COMIC BOOK SPOILER (a positive one!)

Maggie is in the comics for a long time and as far as I know still is! With any luck and if the writers realize they are onto a 'fan favourite' with Lauren, it'll stay that way in the show!

NEW WEBISODES Coming Out to Bridge Season 2 and 3 !!! as per THE WALKING DEAD'S showrunner Glen Mazzara:
“Greg Nicotero [and John Esposito] were just awarded a Writers Guild Award for their webisodes, so that same team is going ahead with a new round of webisodes to bring us into season 3. They are just beginning to write that material. I’ve seen a treatment for it and I believe Greg is going to direct that as well. So yes, there will be new webisodes coming before season 3.”

Released last October, the first webisode series gave us the backstory of the popular “Bicycle Girl” walker.
Glen mentioned that he wants to avoid flashback and origin stories inside of the actual TV series whenever possible, but suggested that we may see more of the early outbreak days in future webisodes.'

    Yay!

    I have a question...
If everyone has the virus that turns them into a zombie, then why isn't rick a zombie? He was quote dead in the hospital when all hell broke loose????

Because he wasn't dead. Just near it.
The virus doesnt ACTUALLY kill you it just reanimates you. Zombie bites will do the job, but I've always more assumed that that is more due to infection than anything else.

Pretty good episode. Some parts frustrated the hell outta me. Some characters are dumber than a set of stones, seriously.
But, the chick with the chained zombies? Hawt. Like, wow. Really badass. :D

The Cast Looks Ahead: Inside The Walking Dead

"There is no hope, and you know it now." The cast of The Walking Dead predict what's in store for them in Season 3. Coming this fall.
Will Shane's death unite or fracture the group? Who's that cloaked stranger who saved Andrea? What's up with that massive prison? The Walking Dead Season 2 Finale poses many questions for Rick and his fellow survivors. In this new video, cast and crew address their hopes for what lies ahead. "This season leaves people at a point where they could fall off the edge or stay on," says Steven Yeun (Glenn). "It's bonkers." Melissa McBride (Carol) predicts more conflict "and lots and lots of zombies."
Check out this new video interview with Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori), Laurie Holden (Andrea), and Norman Reedus (Daryl) if you want a glimpse of what's next for The Walking Dead.
