If I recall correctly, there was no Sophia in the comic. Instead, it was a pair of identical boy twins.

 

She's still alive. The funny part? And I wonder if Kirkman did this on purpose, in Issue 91 (the latest one) she has a line (I shit you not) "Nothing bad ever happens to me!"

 

Absolutely there is a Sophia in the comic books. And for a very long time she and Carl are best friends. (I can't speak to post-volume 11 as I'm on the wait list to read it from my library.)

As to the male twins, speaking generally, as the apocalypse continues and people die their surviving children get passed along to whomever will take them in.

Astonishingly, even Glenn and Maggie 'adopt'.

Oh yeah, I think her mother and that huge black guy (forgot name) became a couple. And then he cheated on her with that sword-swinging black chick. And then she got together with Rick? My memory's fuzzy on all the relationships that came and went.

Man, how I'd love for the black chick to appear in the TV show. She's my favorite character in the comic.

 

Everyone loves 'the black chick.' 'Michonne'

will be in the TV show, possibly by season 2's end but it feels more like probably season 3.

 

Michonne's entry into the show will be fucking awesome. Here's hoping the producers won't screw up her awesome character.

 

I think I read somewhere they were introducing the character for season 3. Considering they haven't cast her yet it seems unlikely they'll include her in the second season.

That spoiler is almost a year old, though.
Waiting and finding out will do the trick for me.

 

You're right, this is the quote I was thinking of, but it IS from Darabont so who knows:

"When she [appears], she's gonna rock your world. I can officially tell you Michonne is coming in the third season."

So yeah, we're officially in "wait and see mode" - I'm not holding my breath until we get a casting announcement.

The missing girl story line took up a lot of the plot of the second season of this zombie show.

Last night I watched all 6 episodes on Netflix. I don't have cable, so I'm going to have to find another way to watch season 2. I'm not going to read much else on this thread for fear of being spoiled. However, just going on IMDB to find out who someone is because they look familiar and then learning that a character is only in a handful of episodes leads me to believe that they were Zombie Food in the second season.

If I ever get bit.......someone shoot me. I think THAT would be compassionate because I wouldn't want my carcass to become a zombie. I'm sure Plan9 would shoot me. I don't intend on getting bit though.

 

IMDb is often incomplete, sometimes because info. is withheld due to plot points, sometimes because...it's IMDb.

COMIC BOOK SPOILER

I was gonna mention that no one intends to become a zombie but then I remembered what became of 'Carol' in The Walking Dead comic books. That was horrible. And 'Sophia' wasn't even dead then! She still isn't!

I agree completely that a zombie pact is the only way to roll in the zombie apocalypse.

TV Carol is not very stable-seeming, right? Well

she's even less so in the comic book. At one point a doctor-type has joined the survivors and against Rick's better judgment is allowed to keep a zombie woman for study. Carol has been making really poor choices including suggesting to Lori that Rick and Lori and Carol all be 'together.' After Lori spurns her, Carol hits rock bottom (despite Lori apologizing), goes out into the prison yard where the zombie woman is tied up and begins 'conversing' with the rotting creature, making 'friends.' Before anyone else notices Carol deliberately offers herself to the zombie and...it's all over.

The Walking Dead comics are really intense...part of the reason I have fairly high hopes for the program.

 

I am behind on season 2 - Shane and the other guy are in a bad place with needed supplies, but I see no good ending for the missing girl. Any human that age gone that long is likely lying dead somewhere or already a zombie.
