    It's a fermented soybean cake. Kind of like tofu but fermented using the whole bean. It has a nuttier flavour and more wholesome texture.

    It's best prepared by marinating it and frying it, and is often used wherever tofu is used.

    Tempeh is delicious. I like it basted with barbeque sauce after frying. It's also really good for grilling because of its firmer texture.
