I admit to being happy with a number. 225, specifically, that I saw on the old scale. In January I weighed a bloated 245.5 Which means it’s an official drop of 20 pounds. Yes, you look at me and see a fat man. But I like to think you no longer see a jiggly mess of bloat.
After the Xmas break my Lady decided to go Keto. I was so fricken fat it seemed natural that the best way I can support her diet was by tagging along. Only without counting, still taking sugar in my coffee and for sure drinking cola when dining out. We’ve lost mebbe 35-40 pounds between us so far. Go Team :)

Re Keto and low carb eating:
This is part of "Lindy's Mom's Diet"
What she (and I) don't eat.
Of course, there;s more to it than that.
But this is a good step towards Keto and Low Carb eating. Without counting.;)

There may be something to our shared genetic heritage, but a lot is in what Mom and I don't eat:
    Breadsticks
    French Fries
Breaded and fried foods in general -- only rarely
    White bread, rolls, buns, etc.
    White rice
    Donuts
    Sugared Cereals
    Full sugar soda
    Cake and frosting

I started having the girls do some really basic stretching and strength training for gymnastics, using YouTube videos. I have been doing it alongside them. And I am getting stronger. We're getting stronger together.

In other news, my 5 year old says I do cartwheels like a baby. I am ok with her being better than me.

My workout schedule reflects my time with my daughters. During the school year they go back to their mom on Wednesday morning. So I work out Wednesday through Sunday, five days a week. I have gone back to a PPLPP format right now.

I was actually joking, given your Sunday comment I was making a reference to the Judaeo/Christian god of the old testament.

I have my kid Tuesdays & Wednesdays and alternate weekends, I'm fortunate that we have an awesome fitness center at my apartment complex, so I get up at 5:15 and go work out before he gets up, when he's with me. With school out, we can be later, so if I need to lift and he's not up until 730 or 8 that's fine, I still get to the office. During the school year it's tougher, drop off is at 715 and I get him up at 620 - 630 to get ready. Makes it tough to do cardio & lift first (on weight days), as the fitness center opens at 5. If I'm there right at 5 I can usually finish by 6:15, which makes for a bit of a rush...

Getting in the gym here and there...still not up to where I was before the injury and illness.
Leg still gives every once in a blue moon...but it takes a year for full recovery.

Still eating too much in volume, but getting better.
Need to get back where I was before all the trips.

    30 lbs to go...

Y'know...I've been enjoying the outdoors more lately.
Maybe I'll find some trails, do some interval training.

    I'm way too big now.
    Work stress
    School stress
    Travels
    Illnesses

I need to lose weight big time.
I don't look bad...but the heart doesn't care what you look like.

Now that school is done for now, the project is running smooth at the moment
I'm now not ill...I need to hit the gym regular.

And I'm enjoying hiking and interval training...so I'm going to rock that more.
    Need to become smaller.

No need to be a big mug anymore.
Maybe I will start Aikido, Kung-fu isn't a style that works with my previous injuries and limits on my capabilites

Wow. No one has responded since October of last year. Still working out 5 days a week. Have been gradually getting stronger again. Recently used the 120 lb db for a set of 5 for bench press. Also benched 275x8 recently. Squats for 405x3. Have to hang an extra 25 lb plate on the calf raise stack. If I ever got rid of the gut I'd show some upper body. 20190922_124345.jpg

    Omega, good job.
I'm just a short, 150 pound cyclist/X-C ski type, closing in on 50 years old now.
My body varies very little over time.
I gain 2 or 3 pounds each winter, then it comes off again in the spring.
    Nothing to see here!

Thank you. I'm 46 myself. Being lightweight in your case makes a huge difference where you have to move yourself. I like being strong but I'm not going on a run anytime soon. Though I have dropped about 12 lbs in the past couple months. Still a big boy at 243.

This is a great thread. I make an effort to hit the gym three to four times a week.
A few very sexy men that frequent my gym which help with the motivation.

I’m very much trying to avoid the full on ‘mom bod’...double stack back of thigh butt shelf...two kids later via c-sections. Been a lot of work...although some things will never be the same no matter the effort expended.

I’m curious about this...the leggings bit. My blood pressure is naturally very low..what are the benefits to compression?

(Ok I’ll stop being lazy and google it..)

Dang! Well your hard work definitely shows. I've fallen a bit off the gym wagon but I try to stay limber with yoga and core strengthening. Working an office job makes it difficult but I'm still out getting steps on my breaks. Mostly what I've found is less about the weights I pick up, but the forks I put down lol!

Compression makes it so the blood keeps moving through whatever limbs you're wearing them on. It allows more blood to get to the brain and improves my clarity of thought and overall energy levels.
