I haven't actually worn them yet. But the anticipation is kind of ridiculous.

At approximately 7 pm tonight...I WILL WEAR THE SOCKS!

I love arch-supporting socks. So much.

I also love that the Health Club thread has a discussion about electric fences.

And, I've decided to start walking the beach in the loose sand again instead of trying to run on the blacktop.
Fibro + asphalt = major hip pain.

Going steep uphill (6% incline) back to main road after doing a 3 mile walk in sand.. most sore I've been so far this year.

  4. On July 6 I posted about the Fitbit One and the Aria scale. snowy asked to let her know how it works. In short, it works quite well. Got the Fitbit from my son on Father's Day. Decided I would try for a 10 lb loss by Sept 1. Hit that before the end of July. So I set a new goal of an additional 5 lb loss by Sept 1. Hit that today. Alright, then. Onward I go. Now trying for an additional 5 lb loss by Oct 1. But Fitbit has already calculated that I should be there on Sept. 17. It's dynamic, recalculating expected dates based on activity and caloric intake. I'm impressed with it. Very much. Like having a personal trainer constantly reminding me what I need to do each day to achieve my goals. If I lose another 5 lbs, I'll be under 200 for the first time in 20+ years.

Well, I've successfully worked out for a bit without too much pain. Now I guess I need to get back on the weight loss band wagon. Good bye delicious icecream, it was nice knowing you again.

I've hit 160. I haven't been training long enough for much of that to be muscle, so I'm assuming it's fat. Still, gaining isn't bad, and that was my goal weight. I figure I can go as high as 170 and then I have to start tracking body fat percentage and possibly start restricting calories. So far I'm going with the ever sensible "don't eat crap" diet regimen, which is working well enough.

I've been using the Fitbit Flex for a while now, and I like the motivation it gives me, and that it syncs automatically with myfitnesspal. I've been considering getting the scale as well, is it worth the investment?

  8. I think it was worth it. I'm glad I got it. It can be used by multiple users, too. It also is motivational. It also measures fat% and BMI but neither of those mean anything to me. BMI is sort of bogus anyway. Setting it up is an absolute bitch. Tried it with my iPhone and gave up. Had to use my laptop. You must have wifi in order for it to synch to your Fitbit account. Not sure how it works with myfitnesspal.com

What's better the Flex or the original thing that clips on your belt?

  10. I have the One, the belt clip tracker. I actually clip it inside my pocket. I wouldn't care for the bracelet. I think that would bother me.

As far as their accuracy, don't know. Fitbit has a forum, maybe you can find out something there

    Thanks!

I was reading some reviews about the Flex being a little bit less as effective as the One but I am also concerned about losing it. If it's on my wrist, I am more likely to keep it there.

    Also, no swimming...

  12. The clip is very snug. Difficult to remove once it is clipped on. Actually the clip is a neoprene holster for the One. You could carry it in your pocket if you wanted. At night you place it in a loose fitting wrist band to monitor your sleep.

I've heard that the Flex is slightly less accurate than the clip-on ones, but I haven't seen anything huge that would indicate that it's over or under-counting drastically. It also doesn't track elevation for tracking floors gone up and down, which I believe the others do. On the plus side, I'm horribly forgetful, and I know I would forget to bring the clip-on one more often than not. Wearing it I don't have to think about it.

The Flex is supposed to be water resistant up to 10 meters, but I've read mixed reviews on that...

I really appreciate all the Fitbit reviews... I've been wanting one for a while, but I was hesitant about the price. I'll have to wait for Christmas, probably, but I definitely plan on buying one now.

This the first I'm hearing about the Fitbit but I think I will be looking into it.

Since going Paleo centric July 22, I am holding steady at 10 lbs down. Paleo can drop the weight quicker than that, but the last time it came right back on. Going more for the sustainable route this time. Shooting for another 10 lbs down by Oct 15.

Did 2.25 miles in loose sand this morning in 35m. Disappointed with the pace but had to remind myself that I broke my shoe and walking faster would have resulted in one or more flailing faceplants at the beach. And, it was 93 degrees. Nearly passed out when I sat down in the hot car. But, I'm moving again. That's the biggest part.

I'm on my way...this summer I've improved my routine.
Going to the gym 3x/weekly. Cardio, Strength, Boxing.
Eating better...with less volume. Sleeping better.
Swimming, walking, biking and may start Kenpo again.

Lost weight in my face, arms and legs...upper torso starting to firm...but my lower torso/core is still not up to snuff.
    bit by bit...

I'm kind of intrigued by the Fitbit, but there's also this little voice in my head that says that so far things are working just fine with me and my dumbbells and my stationary bike. We'll see. The scale definitely looks cool, at least.

I'm starting to get a feel for my limits. I've been edging out more and more, looking for how much my body can handle. The good news is that it's more than I thought it would be, and so far it's all systems go -- no knee issues, no weight issues, everything's proceeding as planned.

I'm doing thirty minutes per day on the bike as cardio right now. I feel like I could probably do more than that. But I'm also still doing calisthenics and lifting. I've worked in some burpees, and a variety of resistance exercises (yes, including squats). So I'm probably doing okay.

I ordered this bad boy from Amazon. It arrives tomorrow. I'm pretty excited. Is that a dorky thing to be excited about? I don't know.

I hope you realize that I will now have to test my max reps on that thing every time I visit. (Which should be soon. I have to teach your woman how to wield Magic.)
