I'm rarely naked around the house. I will walk through the house naked if, say, I am getting dressed and need to get something out of the dryer, etc. It's just us girls here and we're all related so there's no inhibition. I'm just more comfortable with something on. Particularly something that holds my boobs in place because they're a little heavy.

For lounge clothes, I have a variety of options. My comfy robe which I have been known to stay in well past the hour a proper lady should. I also have a variety of pajama pants/shorts and t-shirts/tanks. In fact, now that I think of it, the majority of my clothing is lounge clothes because I wear scrubs to work and really don't need much else.

Then there are my world peace pants. My sister gave me this pair of super thin and silky yoga pants that are so fucking comfortable I am convinced that if everyone on the planet were to give up all their other clothes and wear just these incredible yoga pants we could end all wars. It is impossible to be angry in these pants. They are that f-ing comfy.

Autumn-winter forces reluctant addition of layers progressing through black briefs, black t-shirt, black track-suit bottoms and add socks, grey fleece top.

Last year I discovered 'technical' cloth garments, like ultra-thin athletic heat retaining tights and long sleeve tops, and they were great for walking. This year, I will experiment with them as indoor protection.

On a summer evening, if it becomes chilly for a few hours, I might engage my 'autumn' strategy or, more likely, I will don my massive fleece dressing-gown.

If guests come, then I'll wear briefs, t, sox plus tracksuit bottoms if it's a mate I'm about to go on a rough walk with, or dress-trousers and shoes, and wing collar shirt worn open-neck if not. Come to think of it, I don't do guests popping in to chill out. I do formal visits where drinks in lounge are followed by three/four course meal in 'dining room' and 'chilling' is at the table rather than on couches. Wing collar worn tie-less open neck cos I'm a rebel. Jacket worn on arrival, but OK to remove very soon if too hot for comfort.

When clients come for therapy sessions or to record music, I dress to synch with their style, whatever the weather.

QUESTION: Track suit bottoms ... used to be clothes of choice for physical training. Are they 'sweats'? I'm not the quickest to notice street fashion, but three weeks ago, my inner style-police began handing me warnings re my tracksuit bottoms when I noticed that people wearing 'casual fitness' gear were typically in kinda nylon walking pants/shorts.

They are made by a company called Zenana. That's all I know about them.
I think she found them on ebay.

I found some pants by them for $12.99 on Amazon--Prime eligible, too. They arrive on Tuesday.

Mrs. Levite totally rocks the lounge clothing. She sleeps in a pair of light...pants, I dunno, like a cross between very light sweat pants and yoga pants, except with wide, full legs. That and a t-shirt. She fucking loves this outfit, and has six or seven versions of it. Gets into it as soon as she can after coming home, doesn't get out of it unless she has to. Will occasionally wear it to movies, breakfast, ice cream, the store....

Myself, I don't really have this for most of the year. Most of the year, if I'm lounging around the house, I'm in boxer briefs and a t-shirt, and either is negotiable. If it's not too hot and not too cold, I might just walk around naked (though I expect I'll have to quite doing this when Levite Jr. arrives). When it's really fucking cold, then I have lounge-wear: thermal underwear, furry slippers, and a full-length, hooded terry bathrobe.

For hot: spaghetti strap shelf-bra camisoles. I have about a dozen but I have to throw a tank top over them if I need to be presentable--answer the door--walk dogs--interact with my kid. On the bottom, panties--always and shorts--that are probably too short. I used to always be barefoot at home but because of the dogs and all their darn fur/ dander/stuff brought in from outside I wear flip flops to actually walk around in but kick 'em off when sitting.
For cold: Yoga pants, long sleeve t-shirts with a bra (I've never in my life been able to go bra-less--and I so wanted to!) and fuzzy socks or big, warm slipper boots.
For medium: V-neck graphic t's with my favourite pop-culture characters. In a pinch, I'll settle for a regular-neck t but they are not as comfortable--and yoga pants in a lighter weight.
When I was a kid, I loved bell bottomed pants so I'm beyond happy that yoga pants went mainstream.

And for the record, I don't flinch for an instant about wearing my lounge clothes 'out.' For quick runs to the store or whatever. The older I get, the more I realize that there are some societal expectations that I just don't care about any more. Why should anyone care if I'm in my pajama pants when I'm just picking up a can of coffee? Pfft that shit. :)

I'm currently wearing what can be best described as tigerprint Hammer pants.

Yes, I wore them while taking out the garbage and recycling outside my apartment building located on a busy, four-lane, midtown throughfare. No I won't wear them to Wal-mart.

There are limits, but they're pretty relaxed.

For the record, I wore run-of-the-mill track pants regularly until grade 9, when I finally gave in to peer pressure. I've never really cared about fashion. To me, clothes are about utility, not social messages.

I'm thankful I live in a college town where people go to the store in their pajamas regularly.

As soon as I get home, I take a shower and wear my pj's. It's my lounge around the house. I only get dressed when I have to go out eventually, or its 1pm and the neighbours will wonder why I am still in jammies. My s/o wears flannel bottoms or scary shorts from highschool. I never understood why people get dressed to hang out at home.

For going out I tend to put on some sort of pants and shirt. At the local liquor stores, slippers are well within the acceptable footwear to comply with the shirt/shoes policy. If I'm driving somewhere but don't have to get out of the car such as picking up my brother from the train station, I've been known to rock moccasins, boxers, and a Snuggie with no shirt or pants. Snuggies are awesome, they make you look like a lazy wizard.
