When the truth comes out, I'm not sure what the punishments will be, but I will have no problem with any of them.

Did Anthony Kennedy Resign from the Supreme Court to Protect His Son?

The question I want the Democratic candidates to answer is if they take over, are they going to expose it all and be willing to imprison a former President from the opposing political party?

Trump Deutsche Bank Loans Underwritten By Russian State-Owned Bank, Whistleblower Told FBI

Looks like Deutsche bank is behind a lot of potential shenanigans
    Russian backed money pools too
All roads lead back to Putin

This will get more and more messy

I hope the Dems can be strong enough to get this through and revealed

They’d actually have an easier time if they could get something on McConnell
No other GOPr has the audacity to push and block like he does

I think the GOP is confident that they will hold onto power in the Senate or House after 2020. And maybe it will just be the courts, corporate leadership, and media where they will hold power and will try and prevent the President from doing something they don't like.

    Unfortunately, that is unlikely
    He does as he will
    They are overwhelmed and spineless
He and his administration does too much too fast
It’s like Cybersecurity, they aren’t unqualified, the pace of change is too fast, and the dynamic is too layers and spread out for them to comprehend

He’s doing too many crime and unethical actions for them to absorb
And even if they do, they are complicit, catering to power and base wills and compromised

    Congress is broken
    It’s in Future Shock
The world is now too complex and fast for them to grasp, legislate or time for debate
Especially with so many conflicts of interest.

The GOP has sold its soul
And those that haven’t don’t have the will to resist.
    Piss in the wind.

Trump is too used to manipulation
Only way to stop him is to oust him by vote or trial

The question is, are the Dems wise enough to start a very loud and repetitive drum beat as the GOP is good at??
To get the momentum to do the deed
    Politically and socially

Right now they are pissing in the wind too

In reversal, DOJ recommends Michael Flynn go to jail for up to six months — POLITICO

    Lock him up

Actually, they should lock a LOT of people up
If they’d stop this white collar pandering bullshit
    And actually make significant conservatives
Then you’d likely prevent more corruption
    Because suits HATE jail

    https://www.npr.org/2020/01/07/794254074/mcconnell-will-move-ahead-with-impeachment-trial-rules-without-democrats-support

Meanwhile, the Turtle continues his own corrupt shell game
Trying to do a trail by his rules...
But the Trump situation is MUCH more complex and in-depth than the Clinton trial.

Will Pelosi actually send over the Articles of Impeachment??
    Will they add to them?

It's like a friggin' soap opera about trying to oust Mr. Ed from the barn.

What did Democrats get out of holding up the articles of impeachment for weeks?

    It's a game of chicken
    They made them flinch
    They made them sweat
They even made them think...a bit.

And maybe in this insane game, gain some foothold (although...not highly likely)

What the Dems gain is a BIG excuse to say I told ya so...all the way up to the elections
And anger the majority of voters towards T and the GOP even more so.

So then you'd get Dems, Inds and Never Trumpers all voting for anyone but T...and the GOP in follow-thru.

But it also depends on Americans memories (which is shit)
AND who they put up as an alternative.

It was good to keep it in the media for a while and even after the Iran distraction. But it is strange that she picked now (next week) to send them. The Iowa caucuses are on Feb 3rd, so that means that the senators will need to be traveling back and forth. And the State of the Union is on Feb. 4th, and the media will be distracted on covering the Trump rally in DC and talking about it for the next few days. I have a feeling that the senate will rush this trough as fast as possible and it is going to be a victory speech and declaration that he is untouchable and will do whatever he wants for the next few months. If they don't call witnesses and take their time hearing about what happened, you would think the Democrats would be able to explain to people that they don't care about protecting Democracy and it will set a precedent that could come back to haunt them.

White House expects GOP defections on calling witnesses in Senate impeachment trial

    I certainly hope so...

Pelosi may have done the anti Trumpers a favor
    Delaying the articles of impeachment

    More leaks out...drip, drip, drip
    More allies get in trouble
More stupid words and actions by Mr T himself
    Etc...

    It all adds up

And McConnell can only hold the reins tight for so long
Senators are used to their own power and opinion
Doesn’t matter what party they’re in.

And I’m sure there’s tons that are making them say hmm

Hey, even if they finally vote to acquit
It will be in the papers, documented and in the history books

    Every little bit counts...and helps
And pisses off the Orange Janna the Hutt wanna be emperor

This will bring added pressure.... 66% of Americans want John Bolton to testify

If four Republicans ( Murkowski of Alaska, Collins of Maine, Romney of Utah and Gardner of Colorado or even Paul of Kentucky or Alexander of Tennessee) join Democrats in voting to call former National Security Adviser john Bolton to testify under oath, Trump has suggested he would attempt to block it.

Trump signals he’d seek to block impeachment trial testimony from Bolton, others in exclusive interview

And if that were to happen, it would land right in the lap of the presiding officer of the impeachment trial, Chief Justice Roberts.

Given there is no Supreme Court precedent that supports Trump's action if he were to invoke full executive privilege, what would Roberts do?

Would he act on his own and issue a ruling, refer it to the full Court and delay the impeachment trial?

In the Court's decision in US vs Nixon (at the House impeachment level ) the Court tried to balance "qualified" executive privilege versus Congress' right of access to materials or testimony that is "essential to the justice of the case" so there certainly is not a precedent for Trump's actions.

Interesting days ahead that do not play out well for Trump!

I think Mr T is going to try everything
    Nothing is unprecedented
    No holds barred

The only thing he hasn’t done is physical harm (to Americans, that is)
And he seems to back down when enough GOP gets on his case.

    Roberts doesn’t want this
He has no real authority, a simple majority can overrule him.
So it’s about making enough GOPrs squirm and be uncomfortable
They’re the ones that will make a difference
The ones that are starting to question their souls, reality and their place in history
