Take this into consideration again: fake illnesses which inconvenience others just the sake of attention-seeking

No matter who it is that does that, it's not acceptable. And yeah, it'd be good to see that type of people gone from the gene pool.

I'm one of those that believe behavioral traits are 20% nature, 80% nurture.

    So yeah, possibly.

This thread has delved past the level of stupidity, grabbed a shovel and ended up somewhere around Whatthefuckville. Anyone got a map?

Why does this sound like social Darwinism to me?

Hoping problems just fade away doesn't seem very helpful to me.

At least no one seems to be actively weeding them out.

Probably not, but certain behaviors can be learned. It's up to the child whether they pick up the same behaviors or they reject it. I apologize if my comments hit you in a sensitive place. Had I known, to spare your feelings, I probably wouldn't have made the comment. But I have. and can't take it back. I have no idea why some people would behave in such a way. Well, maybe I do, but I don't profess to fully understand it.

I'll shut up now and say that I am glad the gene pool survived to enable your presence in the world.

The best mea culpa I have.

Bottom line for me: I'd sooner help these people than wish them away. Most of us are flawed in some way.

Not a map, but a road sign: "First World Problems - Next 50 posts."

    Everyone is flawed.

In time, you find out what all the flaws are. Doesn't mean you'll do squat about them, though. Most of us don't. Comfort is king.

I'm not sure how I would have handled the situation, probably appologised and packed it up for later. I guess it depends on the length of the flight. I would probably try to strike up a conversation about dealing with allergies. I really don't mind being inconvenienced for an hour or two when someone's health may be at risk. Why is this such a big deal? Why would anyone eat in a restroom? That's just stupid.
