If these contravene something, then my bad. I saved these pics for the sake of what the heck, I guess because I do occasionally save images of celebs among the rest of the images I grab aholt of.

 

they don't look like Lindsay Lohan.
However, I can say that she was indeed blessed.

 

She has nice-ish legs, I suppose. That's about as nice as I can get. But it doesn't even look like her. I'd have guessed Rose McGowan, based on the face alone.

 

Interesting People tidbit I just read. Hugh Hefner insisted that Lindsay be totally nude despite her people's objections.
Self-promoter that he is, he lauded this as an opportunity for Lindsay to remake her image--then he compared her to the nude pictorial that Drew Barrymore did during a lull in her career and the career successes that followed.
The worst thing about these pics IMO, is despite all the airbrushing she still looks 10 years-older than she is.

Ehhhh... wake me when she does porn/Hustler, she already has the image of liking the women. In the meantime, I'll wait until Playboy gets someone I TRULY want to see pose like Anna Phoebe with nothing but her violin or Lindsay Stirling and only her violin (although Lindsay is a devout Mormon/member of Church of Latter Day Saints and Brigham Young alum, who states she wants to help troubled girls). This all reminds me of the Tiffany/Debbie Gibson/Shannon Doherty spreads.

BTW for those blaming Hef, I don't know if he has as much creative input as he used to have.

That’s bull about Hef trying to revise her image. The bar was set way too high on purpose. IMO Marilyn Monroe was an exquisite beauty and comedic talent, but the ignorant public only knows as much about her as Warhol projected. The media wants to keep Lindsay in the role of failure, so that we have someone to laugh at and judge. What purpose does she serve other than being court jester? Hollywood has been known to single out one or two particular sad cases and exploit their comings and goings so that the rest of us shine a little brighter. This is cultural bullying.

We are attracted to her only because the media feeds us a continuous stream of her bad choices, making her more provocative, because we like to see the stupid, tragic slut image reiterated. So, Hef is doing her a career favor by making her look stupid? No. He is doing HIMSELF a favor because he knows precisely what we want. We don’t want naked girls. We want controversy.

You are right about Hollywood, one can trace the "fallen starlet" stories as far as the beginnings to the film industry. Frances Farmer was a big one, obscure and forgotten until Jessica Lange starred in a movie about her. Then there was Jean Harlow, again forgotten except for 2 biopics starring problemed actresses Carroll Baker and Carol Lynley. then there was Patty Duke, and a lot of others that had promise but threw it all away for drugs/booze or an "easy" reputation. Many we probably never knew or thought of, we just know they made 1 or 2 good movies and disappeared into B moviedom.

 

Its a shame that is no one in her life who can help her kick the drugs and get herself together (and idiot judges giving her 1/2 day jail terms to get their names in the papers dont help much)

She had a shit life growing up despite the money, lots of other people have had shit lives and are not in the mess she is - I get that, I dont think it means she is not entitled to our sympathy. I just WISH people would boycot the garbage press that simaltaneously hound and feed these celebrities.

As for her pics, if you compared her to an average girl on the street she is a nice looking girl still. Compared to professiomal models etc, not so much... 7/8 years of being drunk a lot of the time and coked up a lot of the time take it out of you I guess. I wish she would get herself out of the limelight and get herself better because she's still a human being.

Patty Duke lives in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and still does some acting. Nice woman and does a lot for the commuity when she's in town.

 

There is no "like" button in Tilted Back. There's no need for one since we're a discussion-based community and there's really no discussions going on here. This thread is the exception to the rule, which means that I probably should have put it elsewhere when I posted it. I didn't anticipate this many comments. That said, I don't see a reason to move it this late in the game.

 

So was Frances Farmer. My point wasn't that Patty Duke and the others mentioned were "bad" people, just that they had a lot of talent that for whatever reasons (usually drugs and alcohol to self medicate deeper issues) threw away stardom. That Lindsay Lohan isn't the first to go down this road. That it has been common to some degree for talented starlets to "lose it" and "melt down" before the public.

All the ones I mentioned had some adversity and negativity in their careers, that the gossip rags made worse. Patty Duke just happened to be a survivor, her autobiography was one of the most interesting books I ever read.

 

I think that Lindsay reached her peak right around the Mean Girls / Freaky Friday days. Since then, she's just been... Lindsay Lohan. I was kind of excited to see her first Monroe-esque set because a) it was a new celebrity showing their stuff, and b) I was still in my "OMG BOOBS" phase of adolescence/kind-of-adulthood.
This one? Not so much.

I think it doesn't really help that I'm a big fan of the "less is more" approach when it comes to girls and makeup/airbrushing/other forms of "painting on a face."
