I had plans to go riding tomorrow with my dad and a buddy. The hour-by-hour weather forecast has 50% or higher chance of rain for each hour tomorrow from daylight to sunset, except a two hour window where it dips to 40%. Boo hiss.

I'm hungry, but getting out of bed does not sound like an option I want to pursue.

  6. I want to open my curtains and the door to my apartment in order to let some natural light in.
But that means I have to put on pants.
    Harumph.

I hate this kind of personal dilemma, especially on a holiday.

  8. Allergies. Fucking allergies. Never had them before this year. My eyes water all the time. Presently doing an hour of cardio and my nose is dripping constantly. Fucking great.

Are you certain Craven Morehead , that it is not due to older age? I'm a longtime allergy sufferer and in talking to both the allergy and eye docs I got the great news: The constant tearing wasn't due to just allergies--it was because I hit that magic number. One of our other, older TFPers has the same issue but I'll be damned if I can recall which one it is--maybe grumpyolddude ? Regardless, if this is what's happening to you, prescription eye drops can help!

  10. I was part of the TFP discussion on dry eyes that water all the time Fangirl. I use Systane Balance eye drops. But this is different. I've also been sneezing. My nose waters and my eyes tear. Been terrible this spring. In the winter it is just the eyes, which coincidently didn't bother me as much this past winter.

Craven Morehead Dang! Sorry to hear this. What a bloody nuisance.
Hope this passes as we move into summer.
PS I thought it was you that had mentioned the dry eyes previously.

I understand it's Memorial Day, but I don't think that justifies shutting down one of the main streets in town for two blocks around the Armory for a ceremony. It was bizarre--no warning, no detour, just two blocks of a major street completely closed at a point where the only turn-off was into a parking lot.

Have you ruled out mold in the room?

I've taken to leaving a supply of Lifesavers bedside when I'm feeling lazy and peckish.

Then it's no small surprise that you spend so much time at TFP with me and cynthetiq.

Dear sweet FSM, I've never wanted to reach through the computer monitor more and slap a guildie. How many times do I have to explain what de facto segregation is?!

That dumb silence you get from people on the phone when they know the entity they're working for is wrong and the bitch on the other end of the phone is right and they have no defense, nothing to say, just an awkward muteness knowing that they're going to have to ride it out because this one, on this call really is getting screwed over. I've been on the other end of those calls, I know what it's like, and it is far more respectable to say nothing than to get defensive. So for that, I thank that poor woman. Now to start over from scratch. Fuck you, DCF.

Yes, there is no better way to start a Monday masquerading as a Tuesday than a lukewarm shower and the laundry dumped all over the unmade bed. At least make the damn bed first! It's not hard--we only have a duvet. Seriously.

And when I said, "Hey, thanks for the cold shower," he said, "Well, I'm not used to you showering before 8." Really? I shower at 7:15 every day because I have a meeting at 8:05 am. Pretty sure I'd be late if I took a shower at 8am.
