Anxiety is contagious. Is there a shot I can get?

  3. Hot flashes at 35 are AWESOME!

I just have to remind myself that the side effects of my medicine is a small price to pay to avoid hospitalization.

They're my own damn fault though. I need to remember to take the meds. If I take them on time, I won't have hot flashes.....

    Sorry.
Thanks for enlightening me. I tend to offer "helpful" suggestions when they are not asked for or wanted. It's one of my character defects, maybe comes from being the oldest of five siblings. And I put things into numbers and do cost/benefit analyses. It's my training. Sorry.

I should see that this is the "complaining and bitching thread" not the problems and solutions thread.

I like both you guys. Strong women both.

I totally get being superfrugal, having lived it. I do like to splurge on a few things though--like a modern cellphone. I try to stay aware of the pros and cons of it and indeed, it is a pricey endeavor. Family communication is a huge one for me too, in my case my dear MIL loves to text and is over the moon getting snaps of her Midwestern boy--my guy--who moved across the country 2 years ago. A tricked out phone is fun but ultimately not needed if no one on the other end of the line engages the same way. "Grandma" actually asks us to send her a text and loves snaps we take on the go. Who can resist?

/Sorry to butt in and hijack the complaint thread.

Been preoccupied offline and have missed visiting The TFP. Finally got here last night only to have the site go down, seemingly for hours. I kept checking on my cellphone and finally got on. Was annoyed with myself to be rewarded for my stackitude by being denied time on the boards.

Martian was working his ass off on long overdue upgrades. It was actually hours. Poor guy.

This germ-funk whatever is just like the misty rain here. Starts clearing up, then back to sort of sick but not enough to stay down. Transient fever, stuffy ears, runny nose. Completely off kilter brain, weird sleep.

Holy crap, you sound sick! Get well soon!

I lived 30 years in your area, and I've come to find that the molds, both within buildings and without, drove my system crazy. Many multi-story, older buildings have mold issues. You had a heavy rain summer 2016 after drought-like conditions for years. Yikes on their resurgence. Finally, dehumidifiers in all the rooms and especially, where you rest your weary head.

Yes, I saw dear Martian's post less than 30 minutes after it went live. It was late my time so I figured he was toiling on our behalf.
I have nothing to bitch about. Today.

Yep, I tore it all down and built it from scratch. It was way, way overdue. Was about a three hour process start to finish, including testing. I don't know if I'd describe it as working my ass off though; most of the time involved was just transferring the huge gobs of data this site needs to function from place to place. The fact that this process had to happen half a dozen times is what I get for putting it off so long, really.

I'm maybe oversimplifying what was involved a little but not as much as you're probably thinking.

I picked after midnight on a Wednesday night because I was hoping to get away with it without anyone much noticing but I was unsuccessful on that count. Oh well.

I've always been an easily grossed-out guy. I'm better now than I used to be, but I still frown on talking about disgusting topics, especially during mealtimes.

However, most of planet Earth does not share my view, including my daughter...

...which leads me to my complaint:

9-29 through 10-4. Seriously? I could have finished this next draft of this manuscript for them in that time. Ugh.
    Lessons learned:
make sure I'm included in the "reply all".
a quick phone call to the right person sorts things out faster than any number of emails.

At least it gave me time to fiddle with the intro chapter. Glad I sent it on, showed them I was still focused on the goal. And they actually gave me feedback on the draft.

My body hurts more than it did just a few years back. Specifically my joints all of them. Now in the morning after resting all night when I put my right foot down and press it to the floor I get this lightning like pain that shoots out in all directions. Been going on for 2 months, just my right not left. Just the pad not the arch or heel. After that first shot of morning pain it goes away. Just one shot just first thing in the morning.

For me, it's either in the pad or the big toe...it comes from gout. Not saying this is you, but...
Too much heavy meats and beer...to counteract it:
    - cut down briefly on red meats & beer
    - drink plenty of water (to break up the crystals that are causing the pain, this does work)
    - and some Advil/Ibuprofen to relieve the swelling.

The pain is concentrated in the feet where the inflammation occurs when too much uric acid crystallizes and deposits in the joints.
But I've found that in a subtle way makes the rest of the body ache too.
And the crystals "flow" down and spread a bit when you sleep. (weird...) ...but mostly in the heal, pad or toe from standing & walking.

Just a thought...could be something else, but certain organs in the bod aren't as effective as they age...not radical but slow shifts.
may just need some lifestyle changes...
although this IS hard because they are a part of who you are. It's a slow adjustment.

I got a complaint! Man, do I have a complaint!
I just wanted some popcorn. It was my last bag.
I set the timer for 2 minutes. A little over halfway, I smelled overcooked popcorn.
I opened it up, the popcorn was on the verge of going burned, but it had only popped half the bag. Dangit, Bo! Argh!

On a couple of jobs I was chosen to be the fire warden, which is a fancy name that doesn't mean much. At the training sessions the instructors named the number one culprit for small fires in offices: Microwaveable bags of popcorn. So why can't I get rid of the underline on jobs????
