I woke up with a tickle in my throat and it's gotten worse all day.

Does it say something about and your life
    OR society and other people...

when something good happens to you
    and you don't trust it
    or it's hard to absorb??

All because you're used to being beaten up and struggling.
It's difficult to learn to let go and just enjoy.

...And you're aware that you actually don't have it that bad in comparison to others.
What is everyone else feeling??

Who thought up this mess?? (rhetorical question  )

BTW, to answer myself...this is why I don't trust my fate and feel worn
even after a good thing happens
    even after a good week...

because on the last day of the week, my boss decides to overreact to a situation he had just walked into and was unaware of
And kicks me out of a troubleshooting meeting, saying that I was overreacting (but I wasn't at all)
First time that's ever happened in 30 years.

So I went home "sick" after trying to calm my nerves & head...not from the situation at all, that's IT, that's politics...but from what he did.
This is not the first time, he tends to hammer first, ask later (and I'm not wrong...and he always "apologizes", if you can call it that...I guess mgrs can't say sorry, they need to always be in "authority)

But it may be the last time...
I don't need to deal with this shit...I don't have to, the market is too good, I'm inundated with incessant recruiters
I really don't want to move from a "known evil", I'd rather not "live the job" and focus on my own personal life.
I can't deal with someone who has a snap temper.
    Life is too short.

Time to put the resume out...
    *sigh*
In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy the weekend...and enjoy my date tonight.
I hope a good night out on the town will clear my mind.

Yes, a disagreement over household labor is just how I wanted to start my Saturday, thanks.

I hate how plastic forks are so slick that they don't have enough friction to hold food on the tines.

Today on I-80 I stopped at this Chinese place in Kearney, NE and had Hunan broccoli with roast pork, nothing special, but not bad either. I was just about to ask for a to go box when my last bite sent a big chunk of broccoli covered in oily brown sauce off the end of the fork into my cleavage.

The guys a couple tables down enjoyed watching me trying to retrieve it, of course the more I reached down, the deeper it went. A nice light yellow scoop neck top now has a big greasy stain.

I don't want to monopolize this thread, but...

I drove out to Denver to pick up Sig at DIA airport so he didn't have to wait through a five+ hour layover to fly one hour into LNK. It's only about a six+ hour drive from Lincoln to DIA.

Then his flight from Seattle into Denver was cancelled. So now he's supposed to get in at about 9am Monday. Arrrgg! I was all set for a little lovin' to cure out the massive case of the hornies that I've developed over the last 31 (going on 32) days without him. And it's not just his stiff appendage that I miss. I miss his smiling face, good humor, quick wit, and general all around Swedish good guyness. Which means, maybe, that I'm in love as well as in lust.

So now, instead of being lonely at home in Lincoln, where I could at least play with my kitty, play my bass, listen to my music, commiserate with my friends and acquaintances, I'm lonely and alone here at this hotel in Denver.

Whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine, whine.

I am so happy for you that you are in Love, just driving to pick him up proves that. I've loved some women all for different reasons but I haven't been in Love for 25 yrs.

Stopped by this thread 2 days and thought, I have nothing to complain about. Woke up today and the A/C is fried. It's past midnight and the interior of my home is still a hell furnace. Add in a rather heated quibble with the Mr. and I'm giving this day a big thumbs down.

    Sometimes you just can't win...

So the question is...how long you want to deal with it.

    Known evil?
Or Pain in the ass that you can't live with??

    *sigh*
Why can't it ever be easy and straight-forward?
(and yes...I'm aware when it IS easy and straight-forward...and appreciate it. Some don't)

Not my circus, not my monkeys.
I'm sorry for my family because I can't just "be happy" for the shit show happening. I'll congratulate, but I can't pretend to be happy.
Not my circus, not my monkeys. Not my...

    Of course there is.

I was not meaning to diss Denver. Although, if I were going to visit and do things there, I would probably not choose to arrive in the middle of a Sunday afternoon.

I was just complaining, and even admitted to whining, because I couldn't do what I went to Denver to do.

Which was to pick up my long absent partner at DIA, go back to the hotel, and engage in an extended session of makin' whoopee.

    BTW, I wasn't friggin' wrong...at all.

I asked everyone involved...and they said I was fine.

Problem is...the one person who was wrong has total power.
    So, it IS my problem.

    Long story... :mad::confused::rolleyes:

Fact: I don't care how hot or how friendly you are, if you ignore your well-behaved, beautiful, SUCH-a-good-girl dog...you automatically drop so low on my list, I can't even look in your general direction anymore without glaring.

Seriously, though. Gorgeous pup. I was half-planning to dognap her. Her owner was an asshole.

My coworkers were in today, and I'm pretty sure that they only came into work to gossip and screw around.

So one of the things I have to do as I'm leaving work is check the server room.
I open the door and it is over 90 Fing F in there.
So a series of calls finally gets me to the one of the building managers and he says no problem, I'm sending a guy right over.
Great, I get ready to leave and I notice the phone is flashing, almost don't pick it up but the number looks familiar ...
Yep, it's the building manager saying that the Hvac guy will be there in a half hour or so and will need to be shown where to go.
I politely point out that I have been off work for 15 minutes and he mumbles about thinking that the place was open till six and he wouldn't be able to get there for at least two hours.
So of course I waited for the guy so the system wouldn't be fried tomorrow.
These guys took over the building management about five months and I have to say, they suck at it.
