I would definitely cut that fence and repair what's yours. This will save you any problems plus any legal problems, I'd do it this weekend Chris.

I should've mentioned that the fence is a basic 6' tall wood plank fence.

The thing is the back fence that I could cut & re-secure is a shared fence with the property owner behind me.
The sagging portion of the fence is also partly theirs, but that section is on the property of the house next door to me. If I cut & re-did the fence, the sagging section would fall down very soon if not immediately.

Sounds like you need to get all affected neighbors together and put some pressure on the one slacker.

Thanks for remembering. The kiln works. But then I started making this big ass chopper and got bored with it. It's too big to fit in the kiln, and so I have abandoned it from now. And with my add, I haven't started a new one. I need to get a new pattern off the interwebz and also make a better bracket to hold the blade steady while grinding.

Are you grinding with a wheel or stone? What grit are you starting and finishing with? What type of oils are you using?

The roughing out to make the shape I use an angle grinder. The profiling of the blade and taking off all the extra metal that's not a knife is done with a 42x2 craftsman belt grinder. I have belts from 60 to 120 grit. I need to get some finer grit belts. I can't get a really flat edge with the belts and basic platen, so I then create a flatter edge from tip to spine with sandpaper and a block. Oil with the sandpaper is simply wd-40.

    Another dog & fence adventure.

We share our back fence with two properties, a small condo/TH complex, & a duplex. They have the smooth "nice" side of the fence. I can walk onto the C/TH property to replace and reinforce planks as needed, have done so many times. The duplex has a fenced in yard. Some of the boards in that section of the fence have been loose for years. I've managed to block the dog's access to that section fairly well.

Until this morning. The pit bull?boxer?mix? (who am I kidding, he's a pit bull) managed go over the "barricade" and through the loose boards. After much back & forth trying to get him out of their yard and back home, he some how got out of their yard and disappeared. I had an errand that I had to run, and figured that if he didn't show up I'd drive around looking him after my errand. NOTE--In our area pit bulls are very popular with young latino males, I could see someone keeping him.

I took a quick shower and headed out. And there he was running around across the street. I managed to drag him into the house (60 pound 'overgrown' puppies are very strong).

The question I've had, and still have, is why don't the people who live in the duplex simply nail the planks back up? Or have the landlord do it? I know for a fact the old man who owns the property has personally replaced a few planks. I'll try to catch the duplex folks at home tonight to speak with them, or get a # for the property owner.

I'll do it myself if they'll let me into their backyard.

sometimes I'm a petty little shit...who just barely realizes it's not all about me.

damn you world, for not allowing me to be the narcissist I know I could be...

actually, I can deal with stupid people...it's the willfully ignorant and aggressively closed-minded that drive me nuts

Okay is it expecting too much that the washing machines for the apartments do just two things?
Work and actually get my clothes clean.
Instead one of them eats my coins and doesn't start.
Then the other one leaves white crap on my clothes that I have to wash off, after I washed my clothes.
    Dammit.

We're getting molotov cocktails thrown at us in the streets now. This is freaking crazy. I wonder if this is what it felt like in 1934...

There is no joy in Mudville Lincoln. The Nebraska Cornhuskers have lost four out of six football games. Each one in the last fifteen seconds of the game. They lost four games by a total of eleven points.

I'm just glad I don't have to be near her in person. By all accounts it is horrific. A recent book based on info from former secret service members said that her detail was basically considered "punishment detail" back in the Clinton Administration.

I generally despise mainstream politicians of both parties. But she's a special level of disgusting IMO.

Who is this "We" on the receiving end of the thrown molotovs? Most recent reference I found was police in Ferguson, MO.

It's one thing if I wake up on my own at 2am...its an entirely different homicidal reaction when someone else wakes me up by repeatedly rolling over on my body parts, snoring in my face, pushing me towards the edge of the bed, and waking up the cat so I have to get put of bed and deal with food dishes being hockey pucked around the floor. What the fuck.
I guess it's payback for five nights of great sleep. I had to get up in 3 hours for yoga anyway. *sigh*

Woke up at 3 am to my neighbor blasting music and my ceiling humming. Tried to deal with it at home for an hour (banging on the ceiling multiple times, earphones, earplugs, multiple white noise machines, no luck), so finally I called the police. It's not as audible outside, but it's still audible in our vestibule, and our apartment sees that kind of noise as a big no no.

Hilary's voice is nerve grating, but it's not as bad as listening to Palin.

Add me to the list of folks asking where (if) you've experienced this.

We live in a "semi-hood." Getting shot during a parking lot or driveway armed robbery is my biggest concern. Not so much carjacking since both our vehicles are fairly plain and 11 years old, or home burglary (having three large indoors dogs has its benefits).

At one apartment the upstairs neighbor used crank up rap & hiphop. Even back when I was in my late 20s I was NOT a fan of either genre.

I had a better stereo system. I'd crank up Bach's Tocata & Fugue in D minor; he'd turn down his volume. We had an understanding because he specifically asked me not to call the police. He had many visitors, day & night, who only stayed for a few minutes; hmmm...drug dealer was my (very likely accurate) guess.
