On the farm we often would have pancakes with sugar and heavy cream instead of syrup. Or Mom would make her own from brown sugar, molasses, (or sorghum) and water.

I don't really care for alternatives to maple syrup on pancakes. Waffles are a different story.

Destress your breasts. The idiots that put words like this in the dictionary are the idiots that use the term. Syrian refugees aren't hangry, they're starving.

My issue with the OED is that it puts all sorts of garbage words in there in the first place. We don't need etch into stone every garbage fad word the world comes up with each year.

  6. Annoying Coworker: Have you seen Mike?
Me: Mike B? I heard him not too long ago.
Annoying Coworker: *annoyed because I didn't know what Mike she was talking about because it's a very common name and I just saw a Mike* No, sigh, Mike R.
Me: I have never met him, and don't know what he looks like, but I'll let you know when I see someone that could be a Mike.

Every time I read one of these stories I pretty much assume that exactly ZERO of the blame lies on you for being sarcastic or caustic. It's definitely only because she is annoying. I always picture you with rainbows and lollipops in the background and flowers in your hair.

Pretty much how Lloyd Christmas views Mary. No evil or bad in you at all.

  8. Everyone pretty much hates her and thinks I'm funny. My last review I was told my humor was a nice addition to the team. ZS=Awesome.

Our Supervisor was promoted right before I joined the Division and actually had my position. She also can't stand the turd that is my annoying coworker, but doesn't have any grounds to really do anything about it without getting herself in trouble. You can't really fire her because the few things she does do, she's really good at. Also, since AC supports a clueless exec in the division, the bitch gets away with a lot. When I said the few things she does do, it's that exec's travel or whatever. Since the exec hasn't had any issue, AC gets good marks on her report card.

Long story short, she's annoying and not really liked by most people....but we can't do anything about it.

We go to a place for Sunday brunch that has great waffles, nice and crisp. They also serve honey butter. Sometimes I butter the waffle quarters and eat them like a piece of toast.

My wife's hip has been bothering her for many months, slowly but surely getting worse. Instead of going for chiropractic treaments and/or seeing an orthopedic specialist over her summer vacation, she waited until her hip is causing her great pain. And she hasn't mentioned her hip problem to her regular GP at all. WTF?

I was supposed to go to a Match.com mixer tonight...didn't go.
Paid reservation a few weeks ago...was going to give it a go. See what it was like.

    However...
    Woke up with a cold.
Pipe busted at the place and they had to relocate it.
Train broke down coming from work. (had to replace BOTH engines...)
Last paycheck from previous employer before I went perm didn't direct deposit, did a real check instead...had to cash it, ATM was a PITA and took forever to deposit.
and had no time to get to there in time...and it was starting to rain.

    Fuhgeddaboudit!!

I think fate was fuckin' with me.
Guess, I'm going to have to wait another day for my princess in shiny armor.

Y'know if something isn't controlling this all (and damn, they're making it easy to prove...thus disproving them, a la Hitchhiker's)...

Then scientifically, the odds of all this happening at the same time are significant
and perhaps proves that Probability can be twisted around a person to such an extent that unlikely things are more likely. (like a Ta'veren from the Wheel of Time series)

Now, if I could prove that theory...then all this cruel silliness would be worth it.

Conservatives try to claim that America is a christian nation, founded by christians, espousing christian values. They also try to claim the constitution as their own. But if the founding fathers wanted America to be a christian nation, why did they forbid a religious test as a part of holding office? Was it a trick of the devil? A secret cabal of zionists? Or did the founding fathers actually want to keep religion out of politics? Maybe being former British citizens, they were tired of Anglicans and puritans and papists all fighting. Tired of the incessant wars and inbreeding of "royal" bloodlines. Of frenchies and germans coming over to rule England. Maybe they just wanted to say "fuck off" to both the pope and the anglican church.

Separation of Church and State is quite clear, political faith co mingling is asking, no begging, for a repeat of the Dark Ages. Or more closely the rise of ISIL, that same evil keeps raising it's ugly head one generation after another. Just with a different name and face.

  16. WTF? Verizon's NFL app had Miami/Washington streaming through the first half. Logged in for the 2nd half and the app is updating! After the update, it appears to be offering me Indy/Buffalo instead... but... based on my location, I do not have access to that game.
    Fuck you, Verizon!

The real reason new people leave the profession: they get tired of people being condescending hypocrites at a professional level.

In all seriousness, we talk about how prior knowledge and experience is important (see: constructivism, schema theory), but when it comes to mentoring someone, we don't take five minutes to get to know their experience, and then deign to lecture them on the importance of relationships (no shit) and finding their voice (gee, I wonder if subbing speeds that process up. My money is on yes). This isn't my first rodeo, sweetheart.
