FWIW, "condescending" is fairly broad IMO. And, even if true, the root behind it can be pretty varied. Often, when someone perceives another as condescending they are just a little insecure themselves. IME, when people who are detailed communicators (typically a GOOD trait) interact with people who are insecure, sometimes it comes across as condescension. I wouldn't sweat it too much, my guess is that it is you trying to be conscientious in your job, and them feeling they already know it all and shouldn't have someone telling them what to do (and feeling insecure because a newer employee has authority).

    Hang in there. *hug*

Pffft. They're just pissed you were gone longer than expected. They'll get over it. You're not condescending, they're in need of some direction and education from what you've shared in the past. Southerners like to believe they're right. All. Of. The. Time.

    Love you guys.
That is exactly what this is. I need to stay calm and either figure out how to stop this absurd battle or walk away. For my girls if not for me.

    I may have a UTI.

Coming back to this: @genuinemommy, honestly, early childhood education is full of drama. For some reason, it seems to be a field that attracts people who want to start shit. I think in a way the setting is an incubator for this kind of thing. Having been through similar circumstances, I would say the best thing you can do is to keep your chin up and tune it out.

    Thank you for the tips.
I hope you do not have a uti. That must be uncomfortable.

I need to vacuum and move some stuff around. Apartment inspections start at 9am. I have a lot to get done before babysitting at 1:30, and I don't want to do it!

I'm having a bit of a crisis. And I have no one I can talk to about this kind of situation without them losing my respect for their inevitable judgments. People suck. It's exhausting.

I walked out of a crappy work situation today. Pretty content with my decision.

ACK! I still don't have a number that I need to start work on Sunday in an above-board, paid-for fashion. I'm sure there is some wiggle room elsewhere, but it's DRIVING ME CRAZY because it's totally out of my control and in the hands of some nameless, faceless bureaucracy. My employers said they would take care of it, but holy shit, my inner control freak is beside herself with anxiety.

I despise shopping most days. It's even worse at tax-free time. I want to kill all the people. Been waiting on a dressing room for 17 minutes. This is not worth it.

Just went through the drive through at Culver's, ordered a burger & chocolate shake for the tween. Got a shake with blended in Reece's peanut butter cups.

    Tween has a nut allergy.

Fortunately he recognized it, spit it out, didn't swallow any. Rinsed his mouth well and took a precautionary Benadryl.

Learn from my mistake: always mention an allergy to anyone you are ordering food from.

If you're gonna put your business hours on your door....
PLEASE make the signage large enough that I can see it without having to park and walk up to within three feet of the door only to find that your are closed.

    Oooo...am I a mess today.
And for no good reason...logical, rational or otherwise.

Everything is going good and getting better...and I'm tearing like a baby, laughing like a maniac at the same time...then being anxious, nauseous and completely out of sorts...all day long.
    Hormonal??
    I don't know anymore...nothing makes sense.
Doesn't help that I got an atypical migraine along with it, seem exhausted...
...slept thrice, ate something to calm my nerves (3x), went biking to get out, went to the gym to get the edge off, relaxing at the pool lasted 5 minutes...nothing worked.
Then just finally got my head in order about an hour ago.

The brain is a VERY weird thing.
must be something in the air...my cousin is going thru the same lately. He thinks he's going bonkers.
Maybe I'm overly stressed & exhausted...just a final over the line accumulation. PTSD??

Ya'know...after being beaten up for so long, rebuilding everything after the collapse of life...even it's good news & good life lately, I don't trust it.
Like a soldier in the middle of a war zone...doesn't trust the quiet...waiting for a grenade to go off or get sniped at. Wary of an offered hand of truce or a smile.
How do you let it go??
When do you stop feeling raw?
When do you allow yourself to have faith again in others?

I hope I'm over the hump for today.
    I want my smile back.

My wife is stressing over the start of school, esp. the Parent's Tour that happens tonight. She was officially back last Wed, even though the kids don't actually return until this Wed.

    --New principal.
--Pay about 30% lower than the starting salary offered by most larger public school districts.
--Yearly contracts (no tenure), a long-standing common practice. Many teachers get tired of this and leave, but that suits The Powers That Be just fine because they can then hire new teachers at lower pay rates.
--Being an "arts" teacher when many districts are cutting back or eliminating arts programs.
--Being told she needs X number of additional education hours because The Powers That Be for A Major Religion decided their teachers "need" to be "certified" for their particular religion (something that should only apply to the teachers actually teaching religion).
--The priest wanting more of her time for church musical programs. The church and the school are technically separate, but not when the church wants something from the school. The church is currently without a music director; gee, I wonder who the church ask to organize their special music programs?
