Flight was delayed. Wouldn't have made the connection. Flying out this morning. Was almost still asleep until husband decided to crawl over me at 1:45 in the morning to go pee. So much for sleep. I didn't need to get up until 3am. I hate this shit.

I have otitis media...aka an ear infection. Joy! I'm now waiting on my antibiotics.

One of the thrift stores near me has started pricing books individually. The prices were set--Standard HBs were $1.00, unless they were large or special for some reason, and PBs were .50. The Umberto Eco novel I wanted was priced at $3.00 instead of $1.00 .

The manager had previously told me that "books don't sell very well in this area," which I do not doubt. So you raise the prices on items that don't sell very well....huh? Unfortunately he was busy in the warehouse, I didn't get to speak with him.

  4. I absolutely hate dealing with people who don't start a task, complete a task, etc. just because you ask them about it. They want to "do it organically ".
Get the fuck out of here. You're just lazy and selfish. You're not "fighting the establishment " just because you refuse to do what your supposed to do. I asked you about the task obviously because it wasn't done in a timely manner. Gtf over yourself. #RantComplete

One of my neighbors, due to some legal issues her S/O had, is losing her house. Today they are having a huge garage sale to get rid of stuff so they don't have to move it. I feel so bad for them. Four kids, from 5 - 17, all raised with pretty much everything you could want, now going to have to have a much rougher finish to their child hood due to bonehead dad. :(

My ear felt terrible this morning. Ibuprofen, Tylenol, and a dose of Nasacort have made it marginally better. It could take weeks for my ear to drain completely. :(

Still no improvement after 48 hours on antibiotics. Looks like I'll be going back to urgent care this afternoon.

I ended up seeing my regular doc at urgent care, and he promptly wrote me a script for prednisone and Vicodin. I'm feeling much better already, but I'm loopy as hell.

The tarmac at IAH is my least favorite part of Houston. Especially in a lightning storm. When I have to pee. And someone either shit themselves or has horrible gas. And fuel fumes are coming in. I'm cranky. Please don't let my flight home be cancelled.

The frequent and nasty thuderstorms started around 1:00PM, and are supposed to be cleared out by 7:00PM. Texas-sized hope that you get home OK mojo being sent.

Still sitting in IAH. Delayed to 10:46.
What *really* pissed me off was an intake that "refused to cancel" and be rescheduled for early next week.
Um, I'm sorry. You can go there at 10. I didn't schedule you. And, I won't be there. Have fun with that.

    Things I miss thinking:
    • "It's 5:00. I guess I don't have to work anymore today."
    • "It's Friday night. I guess I get two days off now."
    • "It's a holiday. I guess I get three days off this week."
    • "I guess I should book a week off soon."

During the oil boom I knew guys who worked 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, for months on end on offshore oil rigs. Their regular hourly pay and overtime meant that they made some serious money. The one common complaint was getting time off to spend it.

I'd love to have a similar complaint.

One reason why I can't take very much time off is because I can't afford to.

Mind you, I doubt I have the physical tenacity for that kind of work.
