Today was like riding a damn roller-coaster. I'm so, so grateful for the people I work with. If it weren't for them, my mood would be much worse.

hahah snowy!!! I agree about the eye candy. Although sometimes the eye candy is a lil distracting that I am probably getting caught checking out the camels

I walk into IQ credit union and ask if they have an atm. I withdraw five $20s and walk with them in hand to the teller and ask to change it to one $100 bill. She asks if Im a member, I say no, and she responds with we dont change money for nonmembers.

Ugh. Given the three people (at least...but probably more) who have gone through this already, I'm amazed at the kinds of things I'm finding in here at this stage. Am I proofreading this or copyediting it? What could have been a twenty-hour job is now probably a thirty- or forty-hour job.

EDIT: OMG this is nearly 300 pages of hipster-loser novel. Hipster-loser novels should be no longer than 150 pages!

I'm a fan of CU over banks, ahve been for a couple of decades. Ours doesn't nickel & dime us the way the banks used to, but I'm noticing that they have slowly but surely instituted some policies similar to the banks.

My husband is playing Shadows of Mordor. As a Tolkien nerd, it pisses me off so much.

Technically, a CU is under no obligation to do anything for a nonmember. I've had some experiences with the credit union in question, mostly as an affiliate of the network of credit unions my CU belongs to. I used their self-service kiosk many times last summer and found them to be nothing but pleasant. Perhaps it was the branch in question.

My wife, M, is such a pushover. A friend, S, that we rarely speak with called her yesterday, panicking because her daughter, V, has a recital tonight and her flute is in for re-padding and general maintenance. **Well, shit, S, why did you wait until the last minute?** So M agreed to loan V her very nice (solid silver, semi-pro/pro) Gemeinhardt flute. Not only for the performance, but for the summer while S shops for a better quality of flute for V. M's Gemeinhardt flute was NOT cheap, even after we got a good a deal on it.

And this is after one of M's students (at the school, not a private student) put a nasty gash in the top M's Alvarez-Yairi WY1 guitar. The little shit wouldn't admit to it, claimed not to know what happened to it, and the parents never said anything after being told what happened (nice example they're setting for their child, eh). The school did at least reimburse M for the repair, but NOT for the depreciation.

On Afrin, the world is beautiful AND I can breathe. Off, I just want to curl up and cry from lack of O2 to the brain.

I just spent $600 to rent yet another O2 concentrator for my wife, went through a mile of prescription red tape to get it, and the 10 day forecast has a minimum 60% chance of rain, every stinkin' day. I need her to go above 10,000', exercise until she drops, and see if the device can keep up without coughing up error codes (like the last one).

I think shes gonna get wet.

That's why I insure my instruments. I have a 1964 John Juzek Master Art 5/8 "ladies" upright bass. It's insured for $12,000. My violin, a 1999 Bulgarian 7/8 made by Pavlina Todorova is insured for $2000.

Double asses, because of their awkward bulk, and being carried in a soft bag, are especially prone to accidents. And, as your experience shows, no matter how careful you are, others are not.

I use Heritage Insurance, which specializes in insuring instruments for players, and luthiers, repair shops, etc. They cover loss of value as well as repairing the damage itself. They also cover while an instrument is being shipped, while on a common carrier, or in a repair shop. I pay about $250 a year.
