    Waiting for @Freetofly's visa to the UK to arrive. Yes. From about 1982 I've been increasingly displeased with the UK government. This bureaucratic logjam keeping her and me apart confirms my sense of righteousness in getting complainy and bitchy.

    If UK embassy had processed smoothly, she'd have been on the airplane this very moment, to be here for Valentine's Day.

    They sell them at Staples, but unfortunately they are all thin and cheap compared to how they were made in years past. Like anything else they are sorted by specific manufacturer or groups thereof. IBM ribbons are not surprisingly IBM only.
    My Adler model uses one made for Adler/Brother/Olivetti/Olympia/Sears/certain Underwoods.

    Shit, this weekend sucks.

    What gets to me in particular is that it went from "pretty good" to "sucks" in the span of about an hour on Friday afternoon. It was like two people who have no connection to each other somehow managed to conspire against me.

    And two other people are included in this. That makes four different people demanding my attention on a long weekend.

    I'm keeping up my losing streak of ruined long weekends.

    Dad: Maybe you'd have less to catch up on if you weren't partying so much on the weekends.
    Me: Um, what? No. We hardly go out at all these days. Most of our weekend is spent being responsible adults--you know, doing laundry and shopping for groceries.
    Guess he's forgotten that when you aren't retired, those chores have to be shoved into a scant amount of time. I guess he also forgot that I'm on prescription painkillers, and therefore drink rarely these days, if at all.

    Our slow flushing toilet is getting to me. I hate using a plunger in a 'dirty' toilet bowl.

    Oh well, time to run some more declogging chemicals through the outside lines via the washing machine drain. I might try some in the shower drain as well. It might help our water problem, or make it worse.
