Woke up with one of the worst headaches I've ever had. Head is still vaguely throbbing even after taking ibuprofen and Tylenol for my neck like I'm supposed to.

On the bright side, my neck feels a lot better.

I hate Sunday nights. I usually don't sleep well, and last night wasn't an exception, despite meds. My husband was "itchy" so he kept tossing and turning, right as I'd be on the verge of falling asleep. I guess it's fortunate that I got like 12 hours of sleep on Saturday.

25...he'll grow out of it soon. If he's got a fully functional frontal lobe, that is.

My husband is unreachable and it's time to go home. We carpool, and it's Monday, so the library in the town he works in is closed. I am sitting in the parking lot, using the free wifi. I am coming down with a cold. I want to go home.

    Strongly agreed!

Remember, though, this apartment is in Alaska. I guess because of the weather there, buildings need to be super flimsy.

No, it's because it was built back in the seventies during the pipeline boom when there wan't as much in the way of rules.
They just did a major upgrade to the place but that included putting in hardwood on all the floors which is just awesome when you are on the bottom floor.
They didn't do anything at all about the thin walls.

    I was kidding of course.

What I really meant is that everything is probably so expensive there that it's easy to skimp on not-made-in-Alaska stuff like drywall and nails. Presumably lumber is abundant.

    Oddly, not so much.

If you want to build a log cabin sure but all the treated and milled lumber has to be shipped up.
Which is why houses are so expensive up here.
In in NJ there would be these huge houses on tiny bits of land for a million dollars.
In Alaska you can get a very nice medium size house on 10 acres for the same amount.

I hate traveling from cold to warm climates. It's difficult to choose what to wear. It's 32° here and my footwear choices are questionable...but then again, so is my pedicure.

    Update:

We wrote a letter saying we were both home that night, the car never left the garage, we've never been near that particular street, the car itself has never been in the city of Chicago, etc. We had the letter notarized, and sent it certified mail.

We got a reply a week or so ago. It said that a judge had reviewed our appeal by mail and had dismissed the ticket.

Man, I hate it when they change a site I like. An "improvement" as it were...but it sucks.

    Bloomberg.com just did this.
It's now overblown, garish, cumbersome...need friggin' sunglasses to keep the glare out.

It was a great, to the point news site.
    Now, "unusuable".

Who sells this shit to the powers that be for these sites and softwares???
And doesn't anyone on those Powers see what's happening??
    Rate it with their users??

    Quick, hit the undo button.
    Kick those bastards out.

Can't the news just be the friggin' news anymore???

Give them a break. They have to compete with Buzzfeed et all for the best clickbait.

    Nope.
    I'm being stubborn.
I want my non-glam news back.

There are principles here, I think...
BTW...everyone can take their damn scrolling news bars back too.

News needs to sacrifice their bottomline for the integrity of real information.
(even though I don't pay a bloody cent...and block ads)

Ok, ok...at least make it so I'm not blinded.
I'll say nice things about you. Geez.

I like the old version of google maps better than the new and 'improved' version. I'm glad that they let me use it still.

My body feels like a wet rag today.
    I don't understand, I was fine yesterday and I don't have a cold.
