So it would appear the only dentist in a good 50 mile radius that's properly accredited to make an apnea/UARS correcting oral appliance is still out of work due to a case of having been blown up by his boat engine.

Fuck it. I can't live like this anymore. It's seriously affecting my schoolwork and ability to study, and according to people that know me I'm starting to show some signs of the physical strain wearing me down. I'm going back to the doctor and asking to skip straight to a CPAP, they make belly-sleeper compatible masks now and it's not like I'm really sleeping right now anyway. Even the sound of it won't be an issue, the A/C heatsinks are right outside my window and I've lived with that racket for years... it'll be a white noise generator.

Ugh. The wind is funneling wildfire smoke straight into the Mid-Valley. I have asthma and no rescue inhaler right now, as we just got health insurance again. Let's just say I'm spending a lot of time inside with the windows closed.

DOMS I did too much at the gym. Kindly pick my arms up for me, as I cannot do it for myself today.

My 47 year old tendons are not happy with me. If only I'd lighten up on those poor bastards... (not going to happen)

Would this be a good place to gloat over how much I love my heated grips and seat? 39° this morning and I wore fingerless gloves (because I could).

In keeping with the bitching and whining theme ... Mid-Sept is a bit early to be brushing the snow off my motorcycle.

The new 2015 CVO Road Glide has heated grips/seat too. I'm hoping that, if things play out right, in a couple years from now I'll find one someone bought one as a garage ornament and wants to sell.

I wish I had known about CPAP machines in high school. Wouldn't have spent so much time sleeping in class.

Evidently I don't qualify for one because in the ~250 minutes I was barely asleep on their memory foam hellmattress I didn't have an apnea event, just significant resistance.

The sky is no longer visible outside my apartment complex and the haze is becoming significant. My lungs and eyes are burning. It's not easy to get a doctor's appointment in this town, but I think I need to.

I am home from the hospital, but I am sore all over (arms, neck, chest, legs, back, belly) and pissing blood. I'm so weak that I can't lift myself out of bed without help. It isn't just the kidney stone, and the search-and-destroy mission that went up my urethra, chewing through my prostate on the way -- it's the debilitating effect of three days in a hospital bed.

Plus, I found out that I have only one kidney.

Take care of yourself my friend.
Sounds like a really crappy way to spend your birthday.
I hope things get better quickly.

Maybe it's not just the three days of bed rest. It occurs to me that my muscles are sore from being tense during hours of pain. Also, no more morphine or toradol since I left the hospital this afternoon.

I must be getting close to pseudo-PMS or something. I keep tearing up over adorable things. Mostly happy tears.

Great. Went to the effort to make a nice dinner ahead of my husband getting home so he wouldn't have to wait to eat. I'm in the middle of cooking it when he messages me to say he's going out for a beer with a friend. As I said elsewhere, I'm feeling pretty sensitive today. I don't mind the going out thing--it's the 15-minute warning thing. If you are going to be that late getting home, I feel like there should at least be a warning commensurate with the lateness, especially if you know ahead of time.

Back to the hospital today to have a stent removed from my body. This was supposed to be a DIY procedure: just pull on the thread, they assured me, and it would slide right out.

It turns out I was right to be skeptical. I hate being right about stuff like this.

The solution involved a device which sent a video camera into my bladder, grabbed the stent, and pulled it out. It was uncomfortable, to say the least, but I am very relieved to have the thing out of my body.

A word to the wise: kidney stones are caused by dehydration. Don't let this happen to you!

I've never been much of a water drinker. After mine, I had to become one. I still don't like water.
