The air conditioning responsible for cooling mine and my three coworkers' offices is busted in my office building for the third time this summer. My office was 96°F when I came in to work this morning. The technician said it will be at least another two days before it's back up and running.

    Ugh.

DHL ships packages worldwide. If you have a problem (package was not accepted - probably delivered to wrong address) you must call a number in Germany. You wait while a recording tells you how wonderful DHL is and then a recording tries to route the call by explaining in fast German options and the number to press on your phone. After waiting ten minutes someone answers your call who only speaks German. There is no option about this. There is no online help except the phone number you must call.
I'm hoping this depression and despair will slowly go away. Will try again tomorrow to deal with the problem.

So much busy work to do today. So much actual work to do too.

    I need three of me.

Despite the AC, I did not sleep well last night. I was just about to drift off when the complex's landscaping sprinklers turned on, and they're quite loud. It made it hard to go back to sleep.

The power has been out at my work for about 36 hours due to storms that rolled through Mon night. Which means we are reaching the point of shutting some of our customers down. Not good at all. And worse, we are totally at the mercy of the power company.

The day after wrapping up a large project is usually the most unproductive of days.

GTA IV on the PC is way too damn unstable. Fun game but the 'fatal error' message gets old.

Outside of work, my camera is the main thing that gets me outside.

The person who sits across the room from me is clipping her nails at her desk.

    I hate that sound.

I love it, but one of my favorite men in the world is a compulsive nail clipper, and we were roommates for a long time, so I associate the sound with him. At your desk at work is disgusting.

Clipping your nails outside of the privacy of your own bathroom makes as much sense as flossing or cleaning out your ears somewhere other than your bathroom.

    Seriously, people.

I feel like playing a Command and Conquer game but that means rebooting over to the Windows side of the laptop. Somehow I think that youtube on Ubuntu is going to win; might just browse free Linux games or re-install Bneath a Steel Sky.
Ooh, just looked for it and found it for Windows, off to install on the main desktop.

What does it take to get the staff at hospitals to not only listen to you, but also to actually take preemptive action?

When we tell you that my FIL is becoming more alert and more fidgetty, and he has a habit of pulling out his IV, therefore you need to seurely wrap his IV line, we're not saying it just to hear our selves talk.
