Why on earth would you get a Lexus nowadays?

In the past 5 years Toyota cars have become much nicer, whereas Lexus did the reverse.

And if you're gonna get a Lexus, at least make it an IS F. For the horsepower.

The most under performing, least luxurious cars out there. Even a Hyundai Genesis is better. Slap a 'yota logo on the lexus and it is the same damn thing except as Remixer pointed out, the Toyota brand has increased while they have gutted their Lexus line. Good luck with the resale value on that IS.

I can't let this one go so easily.

When you see a BMW around town, the first thing you do is look at the numbers. Right? Ok, if you see an M3, then, you think "fuck that. I'd rather have a 5." That's what the ISF is for Lexus. It is similar to a BMW M3 but with less power and far less resale value on top of having to pay way too much. Take away the 'f' and just go with a IS350 and you're even worse off. You're now in a C250 Mercedes class. Yeahhhh, you don't need an IS350. Well, not unless you like taking it without lube. $62k for a car that only spits out 400hp. PASSSSSSS

 

I'm just saying. If it's gotta be a Lexus, then make it an IS F so at least you have some horsepower to back your purchase up in front of your mates.

And $62k for 400hp isn't that bad. Look at the $110k for a black Nissan GTR with 425hp or $124k for an Audi RS6 with 560hp.

Then again, both the Nissan and Audi are far superior to any Lexus, outside of the horsepower.

 

That's the point. You can take the GTR and with a bit more cash turn it into a virtual supercar. I have an Audi so I know how awesome they are. So while it may not be so bad looking at the numbers as $62k=400hp, the key is how that HP is transferred to the road. I just don't think the response is going to be there in an IS or any other Lexus. I'd put mine up against any Lexus or BMW any day. Did I pay more for what I have? Obviously. The thing is that it didn't just give me a higher output engine, it gave me actual luxury which is something that Lexus just can't claim any longer.

 

It's never "gotta be a lexus". I'm not switching from my German engineering again any time soon. The 335d was awesome, but it got traded for a 335i with a few more bells and one whistle. The comfort and performance is awesome. I love switching into sport mode and slamming around idiots on the highway. And the BMW apps program loads your phone stuff directly into the display so there's no looking at your phone and stupid stuff while driving. It's all right there. And it's quiet enough to have a conversation and you hear just enough engine and outside noise to make you grin when you "drop the hammer" like my friend's 5 year old likes to say. And my TDI is a blast. Fuck Lexus. Only old people and racer boys drive them.
