    Thanks, hamsterball.
I think we are the stereotypical couple whose number one and two topics of argument are money and sex. At least, they were.
Basically, I picked a guy who was completely safe, versus the bad boys I was involved with in the second half of my twenties. So, no fireworks unless I make 'em.
I don't define "romance" as stuff being bought for me. It's more like holding hands, hugging, cuddling, snuggling in non-sexual situations, rather than just get under the covers, grab some body bits and away we go.

I don't want to deal with moving. It's already giving me a headache and it's not even 100% for sure yet.

We'll have to sell a lot of our stuff and put some of it in storage at the in-laws. I already made a list for that.
We'll have to drive up there Thursday or Friday and find an apartment. I already made a list for that, too.
Once that's all done, I have to cancel one of my jobs and put in my notice.

Hey, at least it wasn't the headlight of a locomotive speeding at you. ;)

    Exactly.

Since the beginning of the month, I've been working weekdays, weeknights, and half days on weekends. I won't get a day off until the beginning of May sometime. I thought I was going to get at least a night or two off this week. I just found out: no dice.

The aforementioned locomotive, however, would be all the work evaporating completely.

There's probably something out there more depressing than listening to an expat from Northern Ireland talking about growing up in Northern Ireland, all the while lamenting how boring they find it living in the Netherlands, but I don't know what that would be.

Final Countdown came on during bootcamp while we were doing bear crawls across the turf. Seemed appropriate.

Now it's stuck in my head. Naturally.

This is going to sound weird coming from an English teacher, but I dislike it when people think they don't use algebra every day. You do. You just don't realize it.

For example, if you figure out how many gallons of gas you can buy with a given amount of money, you're doing algebra, as you're using a formula with variables and solving for x.

It's not complicated algebra, but it's still algebra.

Does he deserve to know ;)?

    -------------------------------------------

Why couldn't the damn alternator crap out when we had the car in for service last week?
Why didn't they diagnose the potential problem then?
Were there signs of a problem that they should've looked for, could've found?
Did the dealership some how cause the problem when they replaced the water pump?

Modern engines are great in many ways. But I remember when replacing a water pump, alternator, etc. was relatively simple. You didn't need to remove half the parts, or lift the engine, to replace a malfunctioning part.

    I'm , :(, &.

Jadzia would rant about this all the time.
Good job of making your point.

    Geometry is another one.
The minute you have to figure out which is the better buy a medium, large, or xtra large pizza you're up against geometry.

It's like the repair guy new exactly wheat my threshold was for the most I'd pay to repair the dryer instead of replacing it.

Uh......there's a difference between repairing it and fixing it?

One good thing about my bargain hunting at thrift/resale shops is I'm on pretty good terms with most of the owners. At least those who don't suspect me of flipping items, which I don't do. I can usually get a fairly honest report of what they know about the appliance, and some kind of (limited, of course) guarantee. Scenario--Repairing a well-used Maytag dryer cost $225.00, and a nearly-new used one with at least some kind of guarantee/return policy cost $150.00.

Or I track down repair instructions and the IPL for DIY.
