Spent hours tramping with my spouse all over IKEA today, spent over $1,600 ... and had sex on my mind the whole time.

 

I managed to only spend $55. And they didn't even have what I went in to get!

About to fall asleep standing up on the book floor.

 

Overslept badly for the first time in forever....ugh!

 

The new work environment I'm coming into is a clusterfuck. The boss was recently suddenly relieved a week ago, the new boss has no idea what's going on, and the other guy who does know what's going on is retiring. Then everybody suddenly decided to go on leave this week. So it's me, the most junior guy besides me, and the clerk in the office this week. And I'm next to useless because I have to schedule a trip two states away just to go pick up my work computer and phone. Fuck.

 

Just been to the shrink for an assessment. I am not mad, I am eccentric . I also dont cope very well, so they are getting me a care package to help train me to have a memory and such. No drugs. I need to learn to deal with panic and anxiety.

 

The transformer for our condo, which is situated about 10 feet from my bedroom window, melted down at about 5 pm last night. I'm grateful after 24-hours we now have heat and electric as it went down to 6F degrees last night. I'm pretty darn grumpy otherwise, as ya know, they ripped out a chunk of our garden, took out part of the large tree outside my window to lower the new transformer box in, were hella noisey-- 2 guys worked while 4 joked...<sigh>. It could be worse.

 

Some furniture was scheduled to be delivered and assembled today.

The delivery and the assembly involve visits by two separate groups of guys.

The times of arrival could not be scheduled down to less than a day, so I had to spend the day at home (i.e., skip work).

The delivery people insisted that all of the boxes had to be delivered to the same room, even though the furniture was for several different rooms.

After school, Daughter brought her boyfriend home.

The dog is not happy about being confined to the backyard and not let back into the house. But she would go crazy over the strangers.

Daughter shows up by my chair every few minutes to wheedle for money, rides, or food.

There are too many people here and very little privacy.

But this furniture binge is my wife's project, and she's not here.

My stomach is churning nonstop due to unrelated emotional issues.

There is literally no place to lie down or rest. The assemblers are (among other things) putting together beds in two bedrooms, while the other bedroom is crammed full with stuff that had to be moved out of the way.

It's now 7:48 pm, and the assemblers are still here.

Okay, now it's 7:52 and no sign of completion.
