I once received a card from someone whose title was "published author."

I filed it under "Trying Too Hard."

I didn't spend quite that much, and my husband's was free. Plus, I'm pretty sure it's not the end. First, there's my admin license, and then my Ed.D or Ph.D. Someday I will be Dr. Snowy, (insert terminal degree here).

    You should get an MBA.

You were born in the wrong era. Ideally, you would be an admiral of fleets, a general of legions, a patrician of empires.

    But your time is now.

You should be a leader of corporations.

Well, I will be a leader of a corporation of sorts someday. It'll just be one that's publicly funded.

First day back at work and plenty of reminders of why I need to leave this fucking job.

Amazing how you can forget all of that during a 2-week vacation.

Woke up with a nasty headache and sinus congestion. Actually, I woke up every hour from midnight until 5:30. I guess I forgot to set my alarm last night, too. So that 15m of over sleep messed me up. Hubs gets here tomorrow night, if he doesn't get bumped. Going to slam guiafenisen all day and try to go to bed early, I think. Still fighting that damn flu shot.

My current job is, surely, the last one I will ever have, not counting casual self-employment gigs.

Trying to get back into a routine and so far, regretting it.

Trying to remember if I closed the incognito window I opened in Chrome on the computer at school...I think I did...I swear I did...I know I forgot to close all my tabs in regular Chrome on the school computer, but that's okay since it was just open to news.google.com and the attendance thing. I just opened the incognito one to check some legit stuff without messing up my mentor's stuff (he leaves EVERYTHING logged in). I hate when I forget these tiny details that then stress me out. I should have double-checked. Next time.

I just KNOW I am going to have a panic attack later over a tiny, insignificant detail, because that is how my anxiety works. I will wake up at 4am and not be able to go back to sleep because of it.

Tonight is my first night in a hotel in the last three weeks. Boo.

On the bright side, that is the longest stretch I've made it (two medical leaves of about equal length aside) in the last 7 years or so.

    Two words: Mini Bar

Mini-bars are becoming fewer and farther between.

I grabbed an extra full glass of mediocre but free wine at the manager's reception in the lobby on my way back from dinner. But other than that I'm taking it easy.

  14. The first 35 weeks or so were super easy. Now I'm in pain and very impatient.

C'mon BabySquirrel! Let's hurry things along. I want to pinch your cheeks.

If vaguelining isn't a word, it should be. It's a headline so vague that you have to read the article to even know what the fuck it's about. It's kind of like an Upworthy headline, except it's an act committed by a ostensibly legitimate publication.

It's almost as annoying as hoping to quickly read a bulleted list of interesting information on a webpage, only to find out you'll have to scroll through a 20-page slideshow instead.

Is this related to Vaguebooking? Vague Facebook posts for attention.

God fucking damn it. Google's PageRank for the main page of my web site has fallen from 6 to 5.

It worked, but it was awkward and I didn't like it. For now, I'm doing TameDos on a Win XP machine.

I hate having to review quasi-scientific articles that are not more that a jumble of buzz words. Makes me wanna stab my eyes.
