I hate hiring. I hate reading terrible cover letters and resumes. It's probably the worst part of my job. I want to email proofed copies back to people.

Do it! I feel the same about poorly written press releases.

You had six pages over three days! That's two pages a day! It's only proofreading!

(Sorry, a fairly easy deadline is approaching while I'm waiting for someone to finish on their end. Being slammed with other work doesn't help my stress level.)

Just had a somewhat argument with my sister.
A friend of ours, her father who has Parkinson disease, got into an accident on a major thoroughfare here in town. Was driving on the wrong side of the road, an accident ensued. Both he and a 19-year-old boy in another car were killed. It's a horrible, earth-shaking event.
But her dad had Parkinson disease...and he probably, obviously, should not have been driving.
That said, he was. I'm a little bit in shock and reeling over it all.

Then comes the point where we got into a little tiffle. She wants to stop all of our parents from driving.
Uh, hell no. They are not at that point. They do not have progressive neurological diseases. My dad has had a couple of seizures and he no longer drives anyway.
But my mom and stepdad? Uh, no, you're not going to tell them that.

I love my sister, but she has a tendency to go off the deep end with the personal expression of her emotions.
You take away my mom and stepdad's autonomy, their freedom to get into the car and take care of their needs, then that is step one toward the end.
It really hit a nerve with me. Not because she was expressing concern about them but because it was all coming from her. Not from an objective observation of my parents. And it seemed to me that she was putting her emotional needs before their ability to enjoy the things they enjoy. Almost all of which involve getting into the car and driving somewhere in town.

Jesus. We never fight. And it wasn't really a fight. She just better not do that.

Sometimes people overreact to an event and get overprotective of their lived ones. Than arguing IMHO allowing them to express it all out and give some time for them to return to normalcy so that they can receive logical argument would be better.....

But she is your sister perhaps you know better. I deal this a lot with my big little girl, my wife a lot!

I allowed her to express it all out. And then I expressed my reaction to it.
Like I said, we weren't really arguing. We don't do that.

  9. I'd like to turn off my brain, please. Just for a little while, so I can get caught back up with life. Please?

I'm really tired of headaches. I've had to cut short many things this week. It sucks.

Hmm for her we found it is migraine and we slowly found the triggers. And started avoiding them. In worst case takes medicine.
I get head aches when I am mentally tired ( fatigue bored work etc). I also get it when I am too hungry. So I avoid starving and fatigue.

For me, one of the big triggers is fluorescent light. Unfortunately, I have to spend roughly 8 hours a day underneath it, and it's quite fatiguing.

Direct bright sun light is a migraine trigger for my wife. Doctors advised her to wear coolers. It works.
If the florescent lights are in your class rooms, I know you cant wear coolers, but there could be tinted glasses that helps, not sure though - you can talk to a doc!

I wear sunglasses while driving pretty much all the time. There isn't much I can do about the fluorescents. I don't have money to replace my glasses at the moment, even if that were effective.

  16. I have a major fruit fly infestation. I've killed at least two dozen of the fuckers in the past 24 hours and they just keep coming back.

On my trip to Walmart tonight, some apple cider vinegar is going to be on my list of things to purchase. Those bastards are going down.

In the cleaning supplies aisle, they have a little plastic apple you put the packaged liquid in. It costs like, $3, and works a million times better than apple cider vinegar and soap. Highly recommended.

In other news, fuck a bunch of Monday.
