The Complaining and Bitching Thread

My workload tripled within the span of fifteen minutes, thanks to one squeaky bitch of a wheel's complaints about three months' worth of my work and the undescended testicles of our organization's president.

Fuck.

 

So this is rubbing me the wrong way: the city of Charleston. Specifically, the historic aspect.

I was recently in Providence, RI to attend NecronomiCon and I swear it's so open and nice toward more alternative thoughts that I almost cried. Obviously it has problems like any other city, but it just amazed that a town with THAT MUCH history was so cool with everything. The city really embraced Lovecraft. Even the baptist church he so admired in his day allowed the Con to host the big opening speeches inside, despite Lovecraft and many of his followers being pretty damn Atheist.

So anyway, in Charleston, SC (where I live) it's completely different. Recently, while scouting out locations, I was trying to find a bed and breakfast to use for a few creepy hallway scenes in my Lovecraftian web series. When the owners weren't completely put off by something other than HGTV filming in their illustrious historic halls, it was all about the genre I had chosen. Mind you, I described my show as being closer to the suspense films from the '60s, and explained Lovecraft was an author in the '20s and '30s. Still, it was just "horror" in their eyes, and therefore out of the question. So very, very difficult.

On a broader note, the entire city seems to be in an uproar over CBS' "Reckless", a show currently being shot in Charleston which I worked on the pilot for. The issue I have here is that they're unhappy that it "casts a negative light" on the Charleston Police Department. While there are several crooked cops on the show, and the first episode deals with rape, I can't understand the logic here. Look at Breaking Bad: everyone's awful in that show, yet the city has embraced it and tourism has been boosted significantly. Charleston is so backwards and sacred to itself that anything that doesn't show off how beautiful and awesome it is shouldn't be welcome.

Recently there was a huge uproar over a rumor that The Real World would be shooting in Charleston. Does no one realize that that brings JOBS to Charleston? Notably, jobs for people like me, who struggles to find work in his chosen field because of the complete lack of productions?

I'm going fucking insane.

Oh, the fucking stress and pressure.

Life's just going to have sit in the lobby and read a 3 month old People magazine.

 

So far this year, 2 close friends have moved out to the west coast. In January, another close friend is moving out to the east coast. The number of people who actually want to interact with me in real life is dwindling steadily...

 

72 hours before I move to Loosiana, my second monitor dies.
I rely on that damn thing soooo much writing papers and doing research.
I want to cry.

 

a Very close friend has been in a chronic domestic abuse situation for 10 years. She knows this, she recognizes this, yet wonders why she has no one left to rally around her after so many times of crying that she's being kicked out, again.

I the girl dearly but I'm at the point where I refuse to help somone who isn't fighting tooth and nail for herself. I don't care if you're depressed and on disability - if you don't have the will to live then nothing is going to get better.

 

Salivating over Cubs tickets only to find out they're already taken.....

 

Westerners do not realize how whiney their complaints sound.
